Got My Date! (Feb. 2014)
Earlier this morning, I got a call from the surgical coordinator at Ottawa's WMC.
My date will be February 3, 2014! *happy dance*
Yes, I know it's a few months away, but the reasons for that are many:
I knew from the forums that WMC was already booking into December. And WMC does not want me to travel for four weeks post-surgery. However, we are away for two weeks in mid-January with our whole family on vacation (my sis, BIL, nephew, and my mom and dad).
My Hubby works nights and we have a 4-year old; my parents will fly in from another province to help me out at home post-surgery, and they will be on holiday with us. To accommodate their own doctor appointments, they are not available until at least February 1.
So I called the clinic and requested that I not have surgery until everyone can coordinate, which is in early February. And they have obliged. I am so glad that was okay with them!
The one drawback to this: I'll be on Optifast for my entire two-week vacation in Florida! However, it'll probably make things easier for me in the long run -- except yanno, for no food at the Disney Character Breakfast we have planned, or at Medieval Times -- but I'll manage. I have to. This is the one thing I'm doing for ME and dammit, I'm gonna do it right! Oh please, oh please, oh please, let me avoid the Opti-trots!!!

Love it when a plan comes together! Sounds like yours is well coordinated. Congrats! You will be the cheapest date in town for the food bill. A holiday is non routine anyway so I always found that a good time to do something new. Best of luck and look forward to both your trip and your surgery! Something to look forward to after Xmas!
