You need to be getting 60 grams of protein in daily. Premier Protein Shakes are the way to go. If all you do is get in 2 shakes and all your water you are good at this stage. You get them at Costco. Opti is not the way to go at this point.

Did you go to a pre surgery nutrition class? We were given a "bible"? The "Bible" told us everything we could eat, should be eating at every stage. Follow your bible.

You can have pureed soups, milk, yogurt with no bits in it. Get some skyr. You should be drinking caffeine free teas, water. Make sure you are getting all your fluids and protein in. It is crucial to healing and hydration. Are you getting all your meds in as well including your vitamins? That's imperative too.

My guess is that you are dehydrated and thus the headache. You need to get that under control very quickly or you could end up back in hospital.

For the next several weeks your job is making sure you get in what you need to get in and if you can't call the Clinic and ask for help.

Topic: Staying at a hotel post surgery | How to pass the time?

I will be in the middle of a move during my surgery. I don't want to deal with move stuff and I just want to fart (and heal) in peace! Food wise, I plan on packing some premier protein, a bottle or two of Powerade Zero (just realized it doesn't have aspartame), my water bottle, and tea bags. Anything else?

Also, when you were guys were recovering, what did you do to pass the time? I'm sure the first few days I'll be lazy and lounge (except for my required walking), but I have a whole month off work. I've never had so much free time since I was a child! Any book recommendations? Series to binge on Netflix?

Yes, you'll get your surgery date. I am at TWH also. My pre-op appointment is 3 weeks before my surgery, so I'm assuming your surgery date will be late February/ early March.

Thank you! I have an appointment with him this Friday & today a new appointment popped up on my chart. It says Pre-Op February 4,2019!!! I'm guessing it means he'll give me a surgery date!!

I found a recipe online that started with cooking bacon... I feel like it would be hard to go wrong with bacon and roast lol. Usually I do the old onion soup standby but I decided to be fancy. I'm using the slow cooker. That's more my speed. But... I'm getting an instant pot for Christmas (shhhh) and I'm excited to see what I can do with that.
