What's New Weekend Edition
Jimmy,
Men are always allowed and welcomed. Sorry to hear you're getting snow, we've hardly had any here in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It's getting colder and winter is definately here but snow has been a stranger to us. We've gotten just a couple of light sidewalk coverings. The weather has sure been stranger and stranger but I'm not sure that it's global warming.....just may be one of those odd years.
Glad to see you on this forum and hope to continue to see you.
Fran
Helllloooo Fran! Where have you been? I hardly see you anymore!
Jimmy, welcome! Men are always allowed. We love hearing their perspective!! And send some snow this way. It's been so darned cold for what seems forever. It's 13 degrees right now, and I know snow would warm it up.
It was a crazy Saturday. My social butterfly, Genesy, had TWO birthday parties to attend yesterday so I felt like the chaufeur. Today I have to clean this house!! Rick is gone to babysit an inmate in the hospital in Reno, and will be gone for 3 days. So here I am sitting on line, playing Scrabble, when the house is falling down around me.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!! And enjoying their Secret Cupids as much as I am!
Hi Fran and fellow OFFers,
It's finally above zero this morning in Central New York. I hurt just thinking about going outside, but I have to do some shoveling before my daughter goes to work. I went out yesterday to do groceries and got into the driveway just fine with my all-wheel drive, but I need to make sure that she makes it in tonight. I never got to the dump yesterday with all the snow, so I guess the truck will set loaded until another Saturday.
Today I have to get caught up on laundry, and I will be watching little Daniel this evening. I also want to get back to my wls journal and jot down some more pre-op thoughts. Mostly I don't want to think about work this coming week, since it is going to be one of the busiest; with grades due, art exhibit to put on and all the snow and cold to deal with. Urrgghh.
Wal-mart had a great sale on shoes yesterday and I bought two pairs of the ankle-high boot type shoes that I like (horsey people call them paddock shoes). The most frustrating thing about shoes for me is that I have wide feet, and I always have to get 8's in order for them to fit. Trouble is that they always end up being too big or breaking down (weight doesn't help either) once they get worn in. I actually found two pairs of 7W's.
One of the goals I listed in my wl journal is that some day I would like to wear high boots again - haven't been able to do that since I was in my 20's.
I hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Keep warm.
Joyce
HI Fran, It's always great to see your smiling face. I've had a nice relaxing weekend so far. Mike and I went to our friends' house for a smoked/grilled salmon dinner last night. They are both great cooks. A glass of wine, good dinner followed by baked apples for dinner, lots of good conversation. . . my perfect evening. Today I hope to go see "Dreamgirls" with my friend Lynn. Mike plans to watch playoff games and I just can't sit still that long. I can watch football if I personally know someone playing but that doesn't happen often. Still cold here, but I think I can tell the days are starting to get a bit longer! Have a good one. Karen C
