Marcy,

Welcome to the OFF. (over fifty forum).  Everyone who posts here are like family.  So glad you stopped by to visit.  Please come often.  Now you have our interests peaked about this book you are writing.....Please do tell...

I am 53, grandmother of 4 and waiting any day for the 5th....I have 3 grandsons, 13,8, and 1 years old. A granddaughter thats 20 months, going on 16, and the new one on the way, (we don't know what were having yet a girl or boy).  Grandkids, are just the best.  I live in Western MIchigan, born and bred here.  I am an artist, and novice photographer.

I had my RNY August 25th and just love it.  I have had absolutley no problems, and no pain.  I will pray for your speedy recovery!  Just think a whole new life awaits you.

Hey Marcy, Congratulations on you surgery date!  I have Tricare too and was approved fairly quickly also.  It will be here before you know it.  I LOVE my RNY.  It has changed my life, for the better.

Hi Marcy,

Welcome to OFF!  I have Tricare also and it took me about 5 months.  Yours really went quickly!! Congratulations!

I hope you get to see and play with the grandchildren a lot!  The growup so fast! Our son is in the Navy (he joined 2 years before his dad retired!) and we don't get to see the grands nearly enough!

Hi Marcy,

Glad you came in.  I practised as an RN also till '98 some months after my MS dx.  Was able to get ssdi reasonably quickly as there were plenty of other comorbidities.
I also am going into surgery on the 27th, for a DS.

It's nice you are closer to family now... that means so much.
And yes, dish on that novel!!  You can't just come in and say you are writing a novel without throwin us a little tidbit about it!

I'll keep you in prayer and look forward to chatting with you post op too!
Hugs,
Patti

marcy; welcome a-board

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Welcome to OFF, Marcy. You will find, as we all have that you are on the best forum on OH. We love each other unconditionally and all love to chat each day about our day and what it is going to hold for us. We laugh, cry and share with each other. We are truly family in every sense of the word.

Please post often and let us get to know you. Just put your feet up in the most comfy chair you have and don't forget to bring your favorite cuppa whatever with you. We love to get together and chat for a while.

I am a reader too so please fill us in on the book that you are writing. That is something that I have always wanted to do and just may some time in my life. I do write poetry and no one gets to read that. It is about my feelings on things that happen in my life. But sadly it has been a long time since I wrote anything.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
