so anyway good morning everyone

im thinking of new ways to keep busy with spring here.  busy equals less time
i think about eating

soooooo im starting to get a list together of flowers i want to plant this spring.

i already have two tubs of pansies doing nicely, they seem to like all the rain
we have been getting in jersey this month.

geraniums will be next, and maybe some petunias after that.  i figure planting
will work off some calories too and thats a good thing.

so whats on your spring flower agenda??  do you plant flowers or veggies?
inquiring minds want to know.

be safe and well, jacki

I don't plant Spring flowers.  Only because I KILL anything I try to grow.  We have 2 plants on the shelf over the sink in our kitchen.  Mu DH cares for them.  I have 4 tomato plants in the back yard.  I give them each a qt of water every 2 days and they seem OK.  But my DH monitors me.

In years past our DIL has come down and planted things in planters in my front yard.  But unless SHE tends them, they die.  Even if I try really hard.

I have decided to spare innocent plants and not try.

i hear what you are saying, sometimes it does seem impossible to nurse those
flowers and plants thru the summer.

but every year, sure as summer follows spring, i try again.  i just think maybe
ill pare down what im doing this year.  maybe ill only plant a few of my planters
rather than a whole bunch.

be well, jacki

Hi Jacki......so funny that you should ask.   I just made a trip to Home Depot and bought 8 - 1 gallon containers of perrinals and planted them.   I bought all different kinds...daisys.....phlox and some others that I can't remember the names.   I am hoping one day to only have to plant a few annuals because of all my perrinals.   LOL    I also think it is a good way to burn some extra calories.    Good luck to you on  your garden.   I may get some tomatoes and plant in my back yard.

Hugs and blessings ~~~~ Vivian

Hijack...

You're walking!  How wonderful for you. I've been meaning to ask how you've been doing. I had a ruptured Achilles two years ago, did the wheelchair/walker/PT thing FOREVER it seems.

so glad you're about well enough to think about gardening. Take care of yourself though!

We will be planting a huge vegetable garden when it warms up here. Lots of corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, melons, peppers and beans.

We do plant some flowers but I much prefer working in my veggie garden. Yummm!

It is indeed spring, funny to run across your post, as today is my gardening day.  I'm going to plant 3 hydrangeas, deep purple ones, some primroses and petunias.  It's a grand way to exercise and the results give so much pleasure for so long.

Hi Jacki, We're in a new home with just lawn, sprinklers, and some rockery in. So it's an empty slate but kind of overwhelming. We've spent the past few days filling 4 wine barrels and getting them ready to plant. Geraniums, petunias, lobelia are favorites of mine. I planted a ***** willow and a small weeping cherry. More to come as I figure out where the sprinklers will hit. We're having raised vegetable beds built with concrete. My husband has had a spinal fusion so bending is difficult, but he loves his tomatoes and will do just about anything for them. We've had such a cool spring that we're a bit behind but that's ok because the final yard finishing is too! I also want a rose of sharon, butterfly bushes, lilacs and forsythia. . . And I want to plant some grasses like pampas grass and flame grass. And little delicate Japanese Iris. . . And snapdragons. .  .. oh I miss my old yard right now. It will take time but my blank canvas will come to life!
