trader joes again
We don't have a TJ here in Texas, however, when my friend comes to visit every July, she stops by TJ for us. Don't know what all they have, but they do have chocolate chips that have no milk in them. My granddaughter is allergic to milk, so it is ideal for us. She normally brings about 10 bags of the chips.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
OOOO I"m so jealous! They don't even know what TJ is here. So sad.
I bet they have some killer hummus. That's been our new treat here at home. So yummy(if it's made right) and has lots of good stuff in there.
Really, it's been so long (four years) since I've been to one, I can't tell you what to buy, but I wish I was in your pocket!

Hi, Jacki -
I love Trader Joe's and go once a week. Here are some of the products I get regularly, some
protein, some not. Prices totally comparable to A&P, some less.
Greek yogurt 0% fat - a little tart but you can fix this with fruit, sweetnlow, etc. I just used it to
supplement mayo for tuna salad. I also eat it plain.
Betternpeanutbutter - love this - says to keep in fridge - tastes better cold anyway
Two tabls same as one table regular - acquired taste but I enjoy it
Laughing cow wedges - low fat - I love garlic - 35 cals
Hummus - many many different types - I like sundried tomato; horseradish;calamata olives
Trader Joe Brand Water Crackers - they crack right away but they're only 99 cents. Pepper
has a nice zip - also a wheat one and plain. About 5 for 80 cals 10 carb
Bagged salads are good. Also you can get red and green leaf half-heads in one bag; also treated myself to the prechopped plastic container of celery, onions and carrots for tuna salads, base for soup, etc. 2.99
Tried chicken sausage - loved them 100 cals but a big sausage BUT after a few more adjustments have difficulty swallowing even small.
Tried the turkey bacon - yummy - very thick - different taste - I think this may bother me now
with adjustments.
Made meatloaf half chopped turkey and half beef. Family didn't know.
Chutney was interesting.
I also buy my bananas, tomatoes there.
If you bring your own bags you get put into some contest.
Treat yourself to some reasonable flowers - they had bunches of daffodils for a dollar for six -
so you get two dozen for $4 - they look like pencils - no blooming then you see the miracle happening over next few days. May be too late now.
I don't care for the breads and most muffins the cal, fat count is for 1/2 muffin so watch it - just not worth it very very high cals.
Good luck!

Walking with you on this journey, Mary
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
thanks everyone. i had a fun trip to trader joes and came home
with a few goodies that i have not tried before.
unfortunately its a long trip for me, so other than the yogurt which
keeps, i only buy things that can be stored, frozen or refrigerated
for awhile
the fruits and veggies look yummy, but hubby is not a fruit or
veggie eater, so i didnt buy any of that. go to my local shop rite
or stop and shop when i need stuff
thanks again for all your input
