What's new Thursday?
michael got hold of rhubarb yesterday so i made a sf crisp last nite-yum! tonite will be 2 strawberry rhubarb pies! first time i bought the splenda brown sugar and it is good! also wally's had the bulk bags of splenda on sale so i grabbed two of them.
have some major housecleaning to do before saturday nite- carla is bringing her best friend with her so i need to spiffy up!
work today then pie baking-no life here.....

Good morning, ya'll.
I am fasting for my ab ultrasound. Does fasting get easier or harder for you after WLS? If I'm doing it becaue I want to, it's no big deal. If I'm doing it because I was TOLD to, it's a struggle. My appointment isn't til 1.
The director at my Mom's assisted living facility called last night. Mom's CAT scan shows a 'mass on her lung'. Mom gets the news at 8AM today. Nan wanted to know if there was some way my Sis and I could get there BEFORE that. Nope! The best we could do would be late this afternoon. We are scheduled to get there Friday at 1 PM anyway. Apparently the doc says she can't wait to break the news to Mom until we get there. Nan will go with Mom, take notes and see that the sitter is with her til we CAN get there on Friday afternoon. I am so glad we already had this trip planned!
The happy news for today. My tomato plants are blooming and my hummingbirds are back in force! My DH says he'll keep the plants watered and the birds fed while I am gone!

Glad to see Brenda is home and recovering.
I was up at 4 a.m. this morning. Wide awake. Today, my MIL has an appt. w/ a cardiologist and we're meeting her at the appt. Hopefully, all will go well. She's 89 and has somed heart issues but is in excellent health otherwise.
I'm finding that the posts text is running off the screen on the right hand margin. I saw someone else mention this the other day. It wasn't happening to me until I upgraded to Internet Explorer 8.
I hope that everyone has a great day today. Tomorrow is FRIDAY. Yeah!

Good Morning Eileen and Friends,
Eileen, I love to write but I'd have a miserable time trying to be brief and get everything in!
Not much here. Same old, same old. Waiting on a contractor. Seems like every project that should take just a couple of days ends up taking two or three weeks. I hate waiting on people who give me a day and then if I'm lucky call and say it will be a different day or several days later. We're trying to get spring planting done. However, it's been a late spring so we're not that far behind. Final sprinkler placements on side yard, terracing a slope with some granite boulders that the neighbors had left over. This requires the contractor with a loader to move.
Grrrr. . . that's about all I can do. I hate being at someone's mercy. My contractor is a bit of an "artiste". He does a wonderful job when he gets to it, but he marches to his own drum!
I'm watching a friend's almost 4 yr old grand daughter today. My friend usually watches her a couple of afternoons a week. They, however, are on the Panama Canal relocation cruise. Wonder how it is going. They had "premonitions" of things to come before they left. She had a cracked tooth which had to be pulled the day before they left. He developed a hernia that will need tending as soon as they get back. Now with the flu stuff I'm sure they'll have "extra" at sea days also.
I had fun making laundry soap last night. Sharon A gave me a sample and the recipe. What fun! Next thing I want to try to make is bath soap. I had to smile when I was making it. My mom would have loved that. She swore by lye soap and a rub board for getting grease stains out of clothing.

Well my house sold, all is well. Will pay off new truck and my car, remodel kitchen by my wonderful hubby and he will also put in new wooden floors and tile the kitchen. He will be a busy boy for awhile.
Went to my bariatric surgeon yesterday. Labs were excellent but I am anal about taking my vitamins every day and exercising every day.
My stepdaughter who lives with us will be going to court in 2 wks for her divorce. Hard time for her but she is handling it well. Because I never had children of my own and having the grand-kids living with us (ages 2 and 6) I'm finally living the life I always wanted, I enjoy having them around but will also be glad when she is able to move out on her own. Gosh, I will miss them when they do but plan on having the grand-kids for the weekend every once in awhile.
