karen...in between everything else we have been looking at the vog situation - i know it worsened about a year ago-orchid and lettuce farms were being effected at  that point...there is so much to study - to be in the right climate and growing situation-not too wet not too humid-not where the volcanic areas are already hard to if not impossible to insure.thank you for the reminder!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi, It has finally stopped raining in Western Nebraska. We have had lots of rain and tornadoes. I am looking forward to the weekend. My grandson will be coming up tomorrow. It is hard to believe he is 16 and has his own car. Have a great weekend everyone! Mona

Yesterday, I really tired of research and the stupid library link at the university only gave me access to one of the data banks, something about updating the links, so I got frustrated and began doing house work.  I mopped my hubby's office and do I need to remind him that when he spills his coke, he needs to wipe it up.  I swear, his beautiful white tile looked brown.  At first I thought some bad sun thing had happend.  Then I began mopping and there it was, the tile.  After his office floor looked so good, I went to the utility room, and then to the kitchen, and then the kitchen cabinets needed cleaning.  Oh, hell, I spent the entire day doing house work.

Today, I'm going to my office at the university to get my gradebook and begin the preparation for my new students.  Last night, I wrote a short story and this afternoon four other professors and I will meet and do our weekly writer's group.  I've been a member of this group for about ten years.  All of us have either had a creative work published or won awards.  One of the gals just got her science fiction triology sold.  Since they are coming here, I need to provide a little wine for the celebration.  That was the impetus for the short story.  It's my turn to read.  Since the last few times that I've read, I've read academic stuff, I thought this time I would treat them to not so stuffy writing. LOL

That's my day.  I will, hopefully, have time to check in and out.

Good Morning!

What's new? It's cherry season here in Kennewick, WA! Bing cherries are ripe and I'm loving it. Have to remind myself that though they taste like lollipops to me they have a "cleansing" effect! I like to freeze the extras with the stems on. Wonderful frozen treats for months to come.

It's Friday. Kind of cloudy and a light rain. We hadn't had any rain for weeks. Hope it doesn't hurt the tender cherry crop. Mike's out of town so I'm going to see THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock. Nothing heavy duty, just fun.

Still buying perinneals on sale. Planted another one last night in hopes that by next spring I'll have a good start on returning plants.

Mike spent last night at Erin's on his way to the beach. He says both girls are running all over the place. "If you're happy and you know it" is their favorite song. Mike says Hannah does the cutest little "hop" when Erin says "stomp your feet!" When they bob their head they look a bit like Linda Blair in ??? (Brain burp. . . what was that awful movie called?)

Nothing else. 8:30am haven't had any breakfast or a shower yet. Need to get my rear in gear. You all have a good one.

Karen, are you thinking of  The Exorcist? I bet they are so darn cute when they sing. You sure have reason to be so proud...they are adorable little sweethearts. And they have grown so fast.

That would be it. . .the head spinning scene! It is truly amazing the changes in a human infant from birth to one year. And in the animal world. . . even more so!

Aloha friend......Oh, cherries! I hope some of them make their way to Maui. We used to have a big bing cherry tree on the farm where I grew up in Oregon, and they would be such a treat each year. My horse, Smokey, used to nip off the low hanging ones and toss his head up and down and spit out the pits...it was so funny to watch. Then my mom would make these outrageous cherry pies....such a good cook...yum.

Enjoy your day!

Morning to you, Margo and all my other siblings. I hope that today..which is Friday...is just the most greatest one you have had in a long time. It seems like it has been a long week since Bill went back to work this week after a weeks vacation. I feel lonely when he first goes back...then life sets in!

Doctor appointment went well yesterday. They didn't see a sign of infection like the visiting nurse did. They cleaned it and said that the top part was healing well and now it is dressed differently so the skin will start to grow over it. That made me feel so much better. The PA told me that pretty much the nurse in anal (which she told me she was...and she is very much so!) and that I need to get out and start living life. It the drainage increases just change the dressing and go on. I will do that for sure. She told me that my body knows me better than anyone and rest when I feel tired. So...life here I come for what it's worth!!!!  The visiting nurse just called and he is going to be here around noon. So I have to get my shower. I was told that I can take one every day!!! Another great bit of news for me.

I have some chores to do this afternoon after Bill goes to work. I will enjoy doing them since that means that I will get out. I am so going to enjoy doing the mundane stuff...it is amazing what happens when you have basically had no life! Doing anything is better than doing nothing when you feel like doing something.

There is a lot of storms and tornadoes going on here. We had some really bad storms during the night but I slept through them. I was really tired for some reason. I am not sure why....  :-)  I guess you get tired of doing nothing. I am hoping that storms don't develop around here. I am so tired of rain...but I so love to sleep through storms...I always have. They seem so relaxing.

Edited: We have a tornado watch until 6 tonight. Thunderstorms are on their way too....oh brother what a day it is going to be!

We are taking our little grandson to church on Father's Day. So his first Father's Day morning is going to be spent with Grandpa. And of course Grandma is getting some Grandma loving in there too. I am so happy for Bill and he is looking so forward to taking him with us. He is so proud and he should be...the sweet little thing looks so much like him and like his Daddy too. But then again Daddy looks like Grandpa too. I so know now what everyone said about the love of granchildren....it goes beyond comprehension until you experience it. Grandma can't wait until Sunday morning so she gets the Kayden lovin' out! It has be pent up for what seems like forever. It is hard to believe that he turned 2 months old yesterday. Time goes way to fast!

I better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers being said for you all too. Don't forget to plant the seeds of happiness and joy so others can share with them too.

that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Well, I was able to get my son to download a picture into my avatar so that I appear more than a shadow with a question mark. -- I had a hard time re-sizing.

Went to son and daughter-in-law's for dinner last night and found out I am going to be a grandma!!!  Yeah!.  I am already a grandma to my stepdaughter's four children and look forward to the new addition coming in February.

My stepdaughter and the grandchildren are coming for the weekend .  It's supposed to be warm here, so looking forward to spending the weekend boating.

Have a good weekend.
