You deserve every happiness and wonderful feeling that accompanies this tremendous accomplishment.  Five years, and holding.  Wow....and they said we were too old to do it!!  NOT...  I do hope you remember the day as special and it brings a smile to your face.

Thank you for sharing your story with us.  Newbies like me have no idea what you've been through and succeeded.  A great post, thank you again.

Congratulations on your surgiversary.

Eileen, I think of our "re births" as important or more so than our original ones. We had nothing to do with the first one other than be there. The second was a conscious decision. I'm so glad that you made this decision to become a healthier you. Best wishes to you.

Thank you for sharing your journey with us Eileen!  When I hear things like your pre-op potassium episode,I'm DETERMINED to teach the next generation of nurses to communicate better.  It is an every day occurance to the nurse in pre-op, but it is a MAJOR EVENT for the patients, and we need to remember that.

Back to YOU!  You have done marvelously and are such an inspiration.  You've had more than your share of challenges, yet your postings always seem to make me smile.

I hope to be able to report such wonderful news when I am five years out.  Congratulations.

Aloha dear Eileen....Living out here in the middle of the ocean, I am ALWAYS LAST to congratulate or sometimes to post. But, this was too important to NOT jump in and tell you how wonderful I feel having read your post. You ARE an inspiration!! Five years and no regain...that is HUGE!

Keep up the good work, and hopefully this will be the year that you overcome the pain issues and are really free to BE IN YOUR BODY!!

With much aloha,

Maui Karen

Eileen,

I am glad to be able to share my actual birthday with your surgiversary and you are one of the dearest people on this board, thoughtful and kind sending cards to me when I was going through rough times, sending me a card yesterday along with Teri and Floyd.  Congratulations and best wishes for being a long-term success story!

Hugs, Laureen
