My rheumatologists called me in a months supply of steroid.  It works and makes me feel really really good to boot. My hands are still killing me and I still have a fever, but by the end of the week, I should see an improvement.  I didn't ride my bike today because of my hands hurting and not being able to hold on to the bike handle, so I did a walk and took my grandson.  My daughter and granddaughter played in the giant sandbox and grandson rode his bike and I walked.  I have those heating pad gloves and used the deep heat patches.  I know I looked like a freak out there with my speed walking with gloves on. LOL.  Who cares.

I need to start packing for the beginning of my trips.  I am leaving for philly Saturday and will get home on Tuesday night, unpack, and repack and leave out Thursday for Minneapolis.  I am dreading that trip.  All work and no play.  If I can just get over the flare up, I'll do fine.

Hi gang,

Got back from Mackinac Sunday afternoon. Had a blast, seen the fireworks in Mackinac City. Lots of people there.

Did a lot of bike riding and walking. The weather was great and a good time was had by all!!!
Rozi my 7 yr. old granddaughter even kept up biking with us, cuz she finally got use to the "big girl bike".

When we got home on Sunday, my hubby put the baby seat in back of my bike and Remi, Rozi and I went out twice riding our bikes. Their mom felt like crap cuz she has a bladder infection, so I just kept the kids busy so she could rest.

You all have a great day. Drink plenty of fluids, I have a walk at 10am with a co-worker before it gets too hot!

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

Sorry I didn't get to see you yesterday, but I understand.

Anyone want some size large/medium capris? I was going to give them to Margo but she says to give them to someone else. There's a big box sitting here in one of those flat rate priority mail boxes (I think it's $10.35) with capris and crops; some with some wear to them, some barely worn. First come/first serve. PM or e-mail me. You reimburse me for the shipping, that's all I ask, because I'm strapped for cash. Can't ship it out til Thursday because I'm broke right now.

Quiet day yesterday. Watched baseball, did a little dusting (what, me, clean? Yeah, it hurt a bit), scooped litter boxes, didn't do any baking ... it was getting too hot in the house and I didn't want to turn on the air. It's going to be a hectic week anyway, what with getting to work at 1 every day for training and then working after that. I should at least get some OT on my paycheck, so that will be nice.

George, I saw the end of a couple of your Ranger games, Saturday and Sunday. They weren't close, so you didn't miss much.

My White Sox didn't play well yesterday, that was disappointing.
Otherwise, a nice relaxing four days off. My leg isn't swollen anymore, but it still hurts. I think I'm going to be one of those folks with a knee replacement that's not going to get relief.

Well, I need to get dressed, get some money in the bank so the check I forgot I wrote doesn't bounce and get my labs done for the bariatric center (potassium recheck after taking horse pills twice a day ... yeck!). Hope it's not a long wait after the holiday.

Have a good day.

Hi Margo and my OFF friends,
We had beautiful weather for our picnic yesterday.  Everyone was able to make it and we had a wonderful time.  My poor niece is so close to delivering her twins that she napped several times while at our house.  It was a monumental effort on her part to attend.  Both the baby's heads are down so she can't even walk with her legs together.  Hopefully the babies will be born by the end of this week.  At the other end of the spectrum we had our Aunt who is 87 and wheelchair bound make it through the day.  She had all her wits about her and didn't appear to be tiring.  She thanked me so much for doing it.  It makes all the work behind having an affair for the family so worth it.
I did very well with eating.  Hamburger with cheese, Baked Beans, Kielbasa and sauerkraut all worked well going down and I didn't overeat!  I had those who offered to bring something do potato salad and the desserts AND take the leftovers.  So everyone was happy. My one luxury was having a bottled Bahama Mama.  It was very good.
It should be a quiet week.  My boss is off today.  Sat. we have a birthday party for my 10 year old niece.  I ordered some clothes for her American Girl doll.  I got notice they had been shipped so I should get it in time.  I'm hoping to get some weeding done in the garden when I get home tonight.  I have to walk today at lunch and keep up my exercise.
Hugs and best wishes to all.
Bev

morning everyone!!!

wow what a weekend!!! i worked all weekend and OMG we were so busy especially friday and saturday!!! my food court did $700.00 on friday alone!!! thats the most ever made since i have been there for one day!!! it was non stop all day long!!! saturday was a little bit slower but still busy...sunday was slow to start but got busy once again and i was glad i got to leave early!!! wow!!!!!!

talked to my sister last night and she is having trouble with her port being blocked so they can't do the dialasis until she gets a new port put in. said she might need a kidney and asked if i had one to spare for her...have to think long and hard on that one...i asked her how gary was doing...she said he still hasn't eaten or drank anything for three weeks now and is slowly dying. still no surgery to have his eye removed because he had a clot develop. sooo thats all on that end. talked to mom and she is still going for tests and all and can't see the dr til later on this month. my brother (older one) is having some tests done also as he isn't doing to good either...gosh my whole family is going down the tubes it seems!!! far as i know my younger brother is doing ok.

counting down the days now til i can get in to see the dr here finally!!! 16 more days to go!!! this knee of mine is really hurting big time!!! my feet are also spasaming at times and man does that ever hurt!!! i am going to insist on some testing to be done for sure!!! other than that i feel pretty good!!!

had a party to go to saturday after i got out of work. had a good time there til after the fireworks...well by then the hosts were pretty drunk and so we left...told rick it was time to go before fights started. long story so won't bore you with it...just know it WAS time for everyone to go home!! we came home and went to bed shortly after. shame that some can't act decent after drinking!! oh well...i told rick next year we weren't going there because we would have our own party and they can have theirs!!! we sure don't need the drunks!!!! and they were there plentiful!!!! geezz

pat r good to see you home and doing so well!!!

margo glad michael is ok after the trip!! sure would have scared me traveling that distance!! jmo

eileen i sent you a pm...hope your aches go away soon!!! i know how it is to be in pain!!!

brenda...i soooo know how you feel about the way you are treated with the baby!!! ricks mom had the baby over night saturday and brought him to the party and later on to the fireworks...well let me tell you this...i don't think she wants me holding the baby or anything at all!! this young girl shows up just before the fireworks  and mind you we never met her before until then...well she lets HER play with him and hold him and omg i was seething inside!!!i try to play with him and hold him and she just takes over...i mentioned to rick that i didn't think his mom wanted me to be a grandma to him at all or to even be with him...he said he didn't think that. i told him to be more observant then and he would see what i meant. i just bite my tongue and stay out of it. (((brenda))) hope the infection is doing better too by the way!!!

george sorry that you didn't get to see the endings to the games...but then look at the fun you had while there!!! prayers still being said for all...

yesterday we went to mardi gras festival in painsville/fairport. (this is where we met jean and had a bite to eat...wanted to eat at that place again but it was all locked up so looks like they might have gone out of business???) played a game and lost...oh well...ate a coney dog that was good...yeah right...lol had a beer...didn't like the taste of it so i gave it to rick...went on a ride that went way up high...insert scream here...:-O LOL then came home to relax. knee was really hurting me so rick got the heat cream and rubbed my kneecap area with it. now if i could stop my feet from spasaming all the time!!!

well time for a shower and then work later on today. 3-9 this time because one of the new women i trained will be working 1-5 and i will come in at 3 just incase she needs help with anything.

oh!! i scored points with the boss the other night!!! they were in need of someone to write happy birthday on a cake...i said i could do it...and i DID IT!!!! came out really good too!!!! and it was on a small round cake!!!! first time i did it too!!! she was happy with the way i did it and so was the boss!!! soooo hopefully he will remember that when he makes his decision on the job i applied for and gives it to me...fingers crossed here!!!! wish he would hurry and let me know if i got this job or not!!! wondering is about taking its toll on me!!!

ok off i go because i am sure i bored you all to death...have a great day and remember....SMILE!!! ;-)

Hi all!
Today for me will be much of the same........unpacking, cleaning, nagging Matthew to get the microwave up (he's actually waiting for a friend to stop by to help him lift it otherwise I'd have to help him today and I don't like the idea of holding that heavy microwave while he anchors it to the wall), actually I'll be practicing some patience today.

I'm trying to not be overly consumed with worry about my up coming medical test (next week on Tuesday).  I keep reminding myself it is what it is and I shouldn't worry until I have the results and we truly know what we are dealing with.......otherwise I'm just worrying myself sick!

I'd like to cook the roast beef today but hate to turn the oven on..........maybe I'll stick it in a pan and make a pot roast sort of thing.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy day.

I know this is probably late for you, Ruth, but next time ... crockpot. It really makes a delicious roast (my brother does it ... not me).

Aloha Margo and Offers extraordinaire!

Margo.....all that you do makes me tired! I am so a "watcher from the sidelines kine person!" Ha! I'm glad you had a fun weekend though, and that you are safely back home ready to face what lies ahead. You are a STRONG woman........all will be well.

I'm in a mood this morning.....and it's mostly about money. This weekend I was out and about a bit and could not believe that gasoline on Maui is back up to $3.50 a gallon! Then I went to Long's for a few things and was looking in the refrigerated section at a bag of oranges (maybe five)...and it was $5.99!! Four cobs of corn...$5.99! Bunch of romaine letture........$5.99! Needless to say....I passed on all of them. I ended up having a steak (purchased on sale) and mashed sweet potato which I had baked and frozen when they were on sale during Easter holiday. I guess I'm going to have to be more focused on the farmers' market goodies and take the time to go to them more often.

It is almost 8:00 a.m. and it is going to be a beautiful day (so what else is new, eh?) Today I need to make an appointment with my eye doc. I just got new glasses about four months ago, and I am straining to see both reading and distance. I'm afraid I might need cataract surgery like my brother and ex husband had. It wouldn't be so bad, but I have to work on computers at the hospital and read teeny tiny numbers and find myself really straining to see them. And driving I am seeing license plates and street signs which are blurred. Has anyone here had cataract surgery? What are the symptoms? I'm fearing it is not being able to get glasses to correct my vision. That is what happened to my brother. He had the surgery and now says he sees perfectly. Sigh. I don't know if my insurance covers eye surgery or not.

I have procrastinated on several projects that need doing, so today I'm going to try and get to at least one of them. But I couldn't resist coming in here and having morning coffee with you all.....my bestest kind of family!!

Here's hoping you have a great day...........!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
