What's New Wednesday?

I feel your pain.  I finished teaching a six week interpersonal communication course in June, and part of the course was learning oral presentation skills.  Every week, 40 students would give a short presentation (usually with powerpoint).  Their presentations covered one entire three hour class.  It gave me time to sit back and relax while my students did the work.  They were much better by the end of the course than they were at the beginning.

That is the good thing about presentation day, no teaching. LOL.  I am teaching a six week ADV COMP class every day for six weeks and it is an hour and half a day class.  So, I was more than happy to turn class over to the students.  These are seniors and are seasoned in presentation.  This class is required for those students who don't do well in Comp I or II or are transfer from other universities.  They hate the class, I hate teaching the class, so we muddle through. Three weeks left. Yeah.  Plus, Friday is conference day, all day in my office, I will look at their writing and make suggestions, Saturday I'm leaving for a thing at Temple University and will be back on Tuesday night, and leave again on Thursday for another conference.  So, most of next week, I will have substitutes teaching. Yeah.  Then when I get back Sunday next week, I will have only three weeks left.

Yeah.  But, the oral presentations suck.

Good Morning gang,
I went to spin class this morning at 0545. Buddy Juli came with me, it was her first spin class and she stayed in the saddle the whole hour!! What a gal. We plan on spin class again on Friday. It's great to have lots of work out buddies, you say you'll be there and your committed. No backing out with exercise buddies!!

You all have a blessed day. I will have a busy work day today. It's hump day...looking forward to 4:30pm on Friday! LOL

Morning all......
Well at least I got a bit more sleep last nite -- probably 5 hrs all told.
It's the getting to sleep that I'm fighting with -- the foot and ankle hurts and maybe that's a good thing, as I do feel the pain and it's not
so numb......the toes are moving a tiny bit more -- I know, I know -- just gotta be patient and this too shall pass!!   The incision seems to be healing nicely from what I can see....but OMG am I bruised....the whole
back of my right leg almost down to my knee is black and blue and purple.

It's lovely and cool here this morning and only supposed to get into the mid 70's.....warm, rainy and muggy Friday and Saturday.  We really could use  a good soaking rain shower.

Made the rhubarb nut bread and will post the tweeked recipe in a separate post later this morning.   Gave most of it away to my good neighbors who have been so faithful in helping me out.

Hugs and prayers to all, and special thoughts to those going through
hard times and issues.

Hi Pat,
Sounds like you are doing quite well post-op.
It was so nice meeting you. Now you still gotta rest. But hey, that bread sure does sound good!

It was nice meeting you too Debbie.....you are such a pretty lady.

I am getting lots of rest, believe me.....it drives me crazy!
I am very pleased at how well the hip feels and if it weren't for
crazy foot, I'd probably be out driving the car.....heh heh

Thanks for calling my son a "sweetheart" -- he is a good son and
he's all I have......but sometimes, .......oh well.

I might try the recumbent bike for a few minutes today --  or not!

Pat

Good Morning Eileen and all,

Good first day back to work, very busy...

Came home and laid on the bed and poof! I was asleep. Woke up with puffy itchy eyes....allergies i guess...

My son called me just to visit and we had nice talk, he is struggling with his weight and is working out and trying to eat healthy...hope he can do what he wants this time..I really know how he feels...hate that he is going through this. His dad is one of these guys that can eat eat eat, anything and never gains an ounce.

Have new outfits to wear all week...from my missions to the thrift store  last week.

Take care all,
Cheryl
