Good Morning, More than a bit stiff from my gym workouts the past 2 days, but I'm able to get out of bed, put one foot in front of the other. . . Here's the plan. Damn saltines found their way into my life last night before bed! Geeze, I know I can not eat just one who am I trying to kid? (myself obviously, no one else!)

Protein shake and supplements.

Gym workout

B: Oatmeal

Snack: string cheese

Lunch: chicken salad on 1/2 English muffin, 1 apricot

Snack: fresh baby carrots/ranch dressing

Dinner: Beef tips over about 1 TBSP rice, fresh green beans, cottage cheese/tomato

Lots of water and ice tea.

My "head" is feeling better just knowing that I am again getting into an exercise routine. You all have a good one.

Good morning to you, our darling little menu helper! You are such a help to so many of us..more than you know most of the time. I know that I get some good ideas from you and I appreciate it and you too! Thanks for all the help that you share. Yes, I would like to see the list that you are talking about. I can always use some help on this journey.

I went shopping yesterday and got a lot of things that were full of protein. I got cheese of all kinds...there was good sales on that...and some black bean burgers...oh those are so good! Now I need to see if I can find a Kroger's (there use to be one in LaPorte and I need to find out if it is still there) and get some of the Carb Master yogurt. Pat R. was telling me about that and she gets it at Kroger's for 40 cents each. If there is still one in LaPorte I am going there and getting some...well, more than some...and having that each day. That is going to help my tummy too. And we all know that I will do what I can to get that under control!! If they are not there I will contact the company that puts it out and see where I can get around here. I haven't seen it here at all. But my bet is that company will let me know where it is here. They want to sell their product and that is one way to do it.

Food went good yesterday...I am satisfied with it...but even if I wasn't it is in the past and what is done is done and you just pick up your feet and walk...and I chose to walk in places that I might not otherwise venture to. I chose to walk in the footsteps of those that go ahead of me and are on their way to where I want to go.

Yesterday food was...
B: 1 ww toast with cheese (my blood sugar was very low yesterday morning)
L: seafood salad in a bowl...boy that was good!
D: black bean burger with a small amount of baked potato with cheese
S: nothing

I love black bean burgers...they come 4 to a package and I got them on sale for 3/$10....so there is a lot of meals for that $10. Bill likes them too so I don't get as many meals as I would be getting if he hated them! But then again since he makes the money that I buy them with I figure I should share them with him!!! Am I not the most giving of people?????? ha ha

I better get going...Kayden is going to be here in 45 minutes and I need to get ready. He is going home at 1 this afternoon. I wanted him to stay longer but then I realized that I am not suppose to be lifting him since he weighs more than 5 pounds. So Bill leaves for work about 1 and that would make it hard...I don't want to give him up...Kayden I mean. ha ha

Have a great day and know that I am sending love and hugs to you and prayers are going up for you and yours. You are so important to me...more than you know or ever will know!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Dear Brenda, you make me laugh. You have such good energy. I have never heard of black bean burgers.now I shall seek them out! Indeed,it is so kind of you to share with Bill,LOL!
I do not have a Kroegers near by,I haven't googled for locations,so I am not sure. However,Frys sells Kroegers here, and I must say, their products are great. A bargain ain't a bargain if it is of poor quality.
I am so happy you are spending some time with your grandbaby. I am also glad to hear you taking such good care of yourself, sometimes we have to tickle our appetites so that we nourish our bodies properly.I think we are meant to enjoy our new lives to the max. If you are going to be miserable after having your body re-wired,what's the point?
As Abe Lincoln once said,"most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be". Do you know he was a Republican and a chronic depressive?
I honestly, believe people who have WLS,and do not follow a good program, are quite unhappy. They are like "dry drunks",they may have given up the drinking/eating,but they have not done the head work, taking those steps, living in acceptance, and accepting we are powerless over some things, like people's opinons and actions by others,so they as miserable as they were,or even more so,
Brenda, what I get from you guys is priceless,I would not be where I am were it not for most of you.
Life is full of the good, the bad,and the ugly, (I loved that western too)!
Learning from others, and receiving support here is priceless.
Know you are in my thoughts, and I am always available for you!
  Enjoy Kayden today,hugs!

Linda, have you tried the Angel Foods program?  My nephew said he gets about a months worth of food for himself for $30.  I've seen it at the church not too far from where I live and thought I might look into it.  He says the food is really good.  Might be something to look into.
I really don't have much to post about eating.  For the next week it will be protein shake or protein drink every day, every meal.  Not too much variety, but a necessary evil.  Then on to the big day.
My peave is that lately I've been having people tell me I don't need WLS.  I didn't make this decision without a lot of research.  They don't know just how unhealthy I really am, because I try not to let my weight interfere with my activities.  The optimum word here is Try.  I will be totally healthy and happy by this time next year, mark my words.

Hi Jani,
You are doing great. Don't listen to those people who say you don't need the surgery.
I also got that a lot from people because I lost 50 pds. before surgery following my doctor's orders and exercising. Their remarks to me were meant to help me but didn't. Not at all. I know that I would have started to gain all the weight I lost again. I knew I had to have the surgery.

Good luck to you Jani. You are a success now and will be after surgery. Is it hard? Yep but we all know having surgery is not the easy way out.

I'm so excited for you!!! Do you have a surgery date yet?

I had a date of August 10th but they moved it up to July 16!  Next Thursday!
You're absolutely right.  If I lost the weight I'd gain it all back plus some.  The surgery is definately right for me.  Easy way out?  HA

Jan, By the point I got to actually having a date for surgery I didn't give a rat's patooty what anyone else thought. I knew in my heart and soul that I HAD to do it for me. I hid things very well. People would comment "You just don't eat that much." If they could have seen me at night time! You do what you know is right for you and you'll be fine. No regrets here.

Dearest Jani,I think we have a program here sponsered by St, Mary's,it is discounted good food, and I may check it out,I need to go get a copy of my social security card. My purse was stolen at Walgreens,I called SS and they said I can come to the office and get a new one.St,Mary's 2 page application does require a copy of your social, they make it clear  that this is required by the government. "Things that make you go hmmmmm",grin! Perhaps it is government subsidised.
People do believe they know what is best for you, isn't it great? Some of them feel they know more about medical procedures than a doctor, this would be laughable, except it would be sad if anyone listened or placed a person like that in control of medical opinions or advice in their lives. Most people who focus on others and have a painful need to be right, have a life that is in shambles. I hope you are careful, and use all of us when you need to,but of course not to replace the medical professional advice and guidance.I too used to say as long as I can do things,I am ok with my weight. Then you find yourself slowing down,or developing morbid obesity related diseases..sigh,but you are not ready to give up the drug,(food in my case). I spent two years getting prepared to give up my drug of choice, not knowing how wonderful it would be on the other side of my disease.
Jani, you know what is best for you. People know you as you are,to see you change,is a change in their lives, and many are not comfortable with that, for the most part.
Please please stop by,it is not all about the eating here,it is about sharing, growing,it's about our heads too! Pre-ops have much to give, and it helps people down the road remember from whence they came. No matter what part of the journey you are on,there are others who need to hear from you, maybe one day, they will speak although they may be lurking,un-certain,some may want to make sure they are not going to be attacked,or feeling they are going to be judged,by those who have no right to judge anyone, which is all of us...smile.
It is always great to hear from you!
