karen...yes--THIS october- but we will rent-- not buy again if ever or for a long time!! being tied to this house has really been a detriment for us.....and with michael's health issues i don't want to be stuck trying to sell another house....

I did some garage sales yesterday, and hit the mother lode! As you may know, the weather here in Western NY has been lousy. It rains for days at a time, then clears for a day or two, teases us with summer for a day or so, then rains again. Saturday was a rainy, cold, windy day, with one stormy episode giving us hail half the size of golf balls. Not a good day for yard sales.
So, yesterday, I went to my niece's to help her clean up the mess in her yard from the aborted yard sale on Saturday. Stopped at a few others on the way. And hit the jackpot!
I look for sizes 3T-5 for my grandson, and girls' sizes 10-14, and baby boy newborn to size 24 months for my step-daughter. I stopped at three sales, spent a total of $31 and got enough Baby Gap, Gap, Osh-Gosh, Old Navy, and other nice name brands to do SIX huge loads of laundry! And there are a lot of little pieces of clothing in a washer load! There are piles of beautiful kids clothing all over my laundry room. I had a ball!
And, it satisfied my need to shop, without buying myself clothes that I can't even stuff into my closet. It was cool! And it saves my kids a bundle. AND I really enjoy myself.
Anyhow, my weekend turned out better than it started, and now I have to go to work, and I'm sad.

Good to see everyone posting this morning!
My daughter and her family came over yesterday. Matt cleaned the gutters for us, and they had dinner with us. The grandkids stayed and we went to the park and played games. They went to SS and church with us. They both acolyted and looked so cute! Took them to lunch and then back here and again went to the park. Took them home about 4. It was a good weekend.
Going to the office this morning. and then the farm for R & R.

Had a great weekend, shopping, biking and church on Sunday.
Shopping: brought me at Macy's who was having a fabulous sale a swimming suit that support "Millie and Maude"!! 2 new pairs of shoes, 4 dress and swimming suit for granddaughter Rozi.
Victoria Secrets had a great sale, brought 4 new badly needed bras so now I'm all set there.
Today, did my 0545 spin class with BF Deb. Going for a walk at 0930 with Juli and most likely a bike ride with Rozi tonight. I like to keep active and not sit in front of the boob tube. When I do that I have a tendency to start grazing and who needs that??? Not me. Need to live life now, got a lot of things to do now that I don't have to take naps anymore!!
You all have a blessed Day. Now remember to drink lots of water, it's gonna be hot here today.

Well, off to walk /run the treadmill. I really DREAD it but feel really good when it's over....I'm watching Battlestar Galactica while I am on the treadmill, not my usual fare but it will do for now. I can jus****ch it for 30 min and then click it off without being so hooked into it I can't stop watching. Then off to work after a shower. Oh, and have to get dressed first.
I am making a commitment to be positive and leave the negative out of my head and mouth. While I love my job and the folks I work with the negativity is sometimes thick and I find myself joining in and man, it really gets to me. I will say nothing if I can't say something positive or at least neutral.....Call me Pollyanna, but I have to do something so I don't come home feeling so bad....

I had a good weekend. Lots of fun with my granddaughters!!
We went on a little shopping expedition. I bought some really cute clothes for Amanda....all on sale or clearance.
She had a huge bag full and was so excited! It was the least I could do for her because she has been such a great help with Grace. Of course...Grace and I hit the toy department!! She had a great time....came out pretty good herself!!
Dwayne BBQ'd for us all weekend....yummy!! We all had a wonderful weekend!!

I thought of you this morning, Connie, as I was doing my exercises on the bed before I got up......takes a good 1/2 hour to get them all done, but now I have that out of the way for the day. Do you still do some exercises???
Yesterday was a beautiful day here - had the house open with a nice breeze coming in until around 7 pm. Today is to be a little warmer, but I will hold off on the a/****il at least the afternoon.
My DS and DIL stopped by after their church and I invited them to have some lunch.....I had made chicken breasts and veggies in the crockpot and they enjoyed them.....I also had made cheddar/bacon biscuits (from scratch) and even tho' I only ate a half of one, the kids really cleaned them up. We had a nice visit and they did a couple things for me that helped out a lot.
Today I am doing a load of laundry and then my neighbor guy is taking me to Wal Mart this afternoon for grocery shopping -- I hate that I will have to use the electric cart again, but it is what it is. That and a bit of reading this morning will be my day -- big whoop!

Hello Pat....yup still doing my exercises...twice a day!!
My best friend is a Physical Therapist and insists I need to do them twice a day...UGH!!
My surgeon agrred with her...he wants me to continue doing them until I see him again in 6 weeks. I am sooooo tired of doing those darn things. My friend keeps adding more...she said I need them...boring.
I really am doing well so I guess they must be working!!

Good Morning from Montgomery Alabama,
We left Benton Harbor Michigan around 0730 yesterday morning and stopped in Indianapolis and had lunch with Brenda and Floyd. Left there around 1:30pm and drove to Montgomery.
We are going to tour the historical district here then head towards Florida. I should be home on Wednesday.
It is nice to see posts back to back from George and Marc.
Marc you should do the art festivals with your pens and bowls....They sell for a lot of money.
We went to the art fair that was in my home town. It was on the bluff in St Joseph Michigan. Very nice things but to exspensive. People werent spending a lot of money.
Well it is raining and storming here. makes for a miserable day touring.
Well Ill be on my way.
