One of my friends from the AR board loves PB2.  It's powdered peanut butter that has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter. I've been curious about it for a long time, but though POWDERED??.  I finally broke down and bought some the other day, and by golly, it's great!

I get it at Whole Foods or a place here called Drug Emporium. It's a little pricey, $4.98 for a 6.5 oz jar (16 servings), but well worth it if you love peanut butter but not the fat!

My friend likes it so much she buys it by the case from the manufacturer and saves lots of money that way.
www.bellplantation.com is their website.

Here are the stats:

serving size 2 TBS

cals:  53.2
fat:  1.87 grams
sodium:  77.6
carbs:  3.4
fiber .48
sugars 1.66
protein:  5.65

Mix 2 tbs powder with 1 tbs water and mix throughly. If you pre mix more than one serving, it must be kept in the fridge. Wendy says it gets pretty stiff if chilled.

Fascinating!  I may have to check it out.  I like peanut butter.......my normal 4pm snack is 1/2 a PBJ sandwich (with strawberry jam, no jelly for me).

The jar says you can just mix it right into the jelly!  Haven't tried that yet

I love peanut butter!  There is a Whole Foods store in Charlottesville.  I need to check that out.  I have been wanting to go in there anyway.

Yeah, I must say I'm a little leary of trying the mixing of the pb with the j, too.  I did mix it into Gary's oatmeal this morning, and he loved it. I bought it more for him than me. I usually don't get in enough fat, and he gets too much, so I'll eat the regular pb and use the PB2 for him.

Hi Susan,
I didn't care for it.
Thank goodness real fat doesn't bother me so I eat the real peanut butter extra crunchy when I do it PB which is mostly on celery for my snack.

Was it taste or texture?  I wonder if you mixed it with regular peanut butter?  I'm thinking it would at least cut down the fat grams in the regular stuff?
