Very interesting article for anyone interested.  I've been having some hypoglycemia issues for a while.  Kinda sheds some light on that too.

Stephanie,

Sobbing Coffee
Oh dear, that was sad. Before WLS I drank maybe one cup a day. Now it is many more than one cup.

Confession: it had become my transfer addiction. I would rather drink coffee than eat. But I don't . How bad is that?

Very interesting article. Thank you for sharing.

I'm with you on this one.  I stopped drinking Diet Coke for over a year.  Then my doc said it's OK as long as I have no "pouch issues" so now I'm right back to where I was pre-op.  I drink Diet Coke all day long and I KNOW I graze more when I do.  I swear it was easier to give up smoking then Diet Coke.  *sigh* I need a 12 step program, lol.

Late post:

Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you about Diet Coke.  I keep telling my DH there is something in it that makes it additctive.  I have been off it since January.  Before that, it was like an addiction.  I would have mega amounts all day long.  If I could wean myself off for a while I was ok, but as soon as I had that first Diet Coke, I was back drinking it all day long.  Planning to just stay off soda's and caffeine.

Another late post

I liked Coke Zero better than Diet Coke.  I could drink 3 24 oz bottles with no problem.   Diet Dr. Pepper was also up there.

I have given both of them up for over a year.  I do confess though--there is free soda at work and one of the sodas there was Diet Cherry 7-up (with anti-oxidants!!!).  I took the can, let most of it go flatter, got some ice and poured some in a cup.  I drank about 1/4 of the can and I got a stomach ache.  Anti oxidants or not, it wasn't worth it.  That was about 3 weeks ago and haven't done it since.
