What's new Thursday?
Although I was told 'bed rest', the furbrats had fleas and were driving me insane. How can inside cats get fleas? Just lucky.
All but one have had an application. Izzy keeps running away. This 20 pounder never runs, but she has made herself scarce. Annie screamed as if I were cutting off her tail but too bad, I got her deflead. Or is that delfeaed?
I am drinking so much I may float away.
My temp is still up so this is what the doctor ordered.
Kisses to all
Annette

The fleas jump on you or other visitors as you come in the house and then on your cats (or at least that's what I've been told). But I can't imagine you'd have fleas so far north. My kitties don't have fleas here. I know my cats had fleas when I lived in Georgia, even though they were indoor, and that's what the vet told me there, that they got them from fleas jumping on me and hitching a ride inside. Poor Kittle was allergic to them and we had to get him a steroid shot. That made him diabetic (or at least that's my theory and that of the people on the feline diabetes board ... although my vet at the time pooh-poohed it). His blood sugar was in the 700s at first before we got it under control. I will never have any cat of mine get a steroid shot after that. Very very risky.
Sorry you're still feeling crappy. Cold compresses? Can't think of anything else for you. Group hug?

A group hug sounds perfect.
We sure do have fleas here. The Vet said it only take ONE to infest a house. Could have come from that poor mouse they caught. The neighbors long-haired cat sits on the other side of the scrren door - he could be the culprit.
Lordy, I hope nobody needs a steriod shot. That would be a big ouchie in the wallet.
The old dog, Stanley Elliot, was terribly allergic to fleas. Once I started giving him garlic tabs every day --- no more fleas. No way can we wrestle pills down 7 cats every day.

Annette, Misty got fleas from I think a jacket that I got at a rummage sale. I itched when I was coming home with it in the back seat and I didn't think of that. Then there goes Misty....fleas and itching....she drove herself crazy and Bill and I along with her. I got the fleas stuff on her and she was fine. I did it for a few months and then you know me...I forgot it and that was the end of that. Fleas are terrible and I have no idea why fleas, mosquito's, and flies where allowed on the Ark. If I had been there I would have swatted the whole lot of them.
Hi all!
I had a strange day with the DD. I went to help her clean her RV. She had mice get in and make a mess. She had the water hooked to the trailer and it was leaking at the facet.
While cleaning I got hot and turned on the air. Her DH had used a small cheap cord to plug it in. We fried the cord and adapter. Melted the prong right off. I went to the RV store to get new adapter so we could plug in another cord just to run the vacuum. Got home and started cleaning again when she let me know there wasn't and water in the house.
We went thru all the breakers as she had trip several trying to reset the power. After checking all breaker and outlet and confirming we had poser we called a plumber friend. He thought we had fried the pump in the well itself.
After trying for several hours I finally got hold of my DH to see if there was a complete circuit to the pump before calling the high price well guys. He found out the power surge had opened the point and got her well working.
The poor girls had a devastating day but at least it end up OK. (DH also figured out why the hose was leaking in the first place-missing washer)
