Good morning ya'll.

It's Friday!!  Our DIL and older grandson start back to school on Monday.  The younger grandson doesn't start til the 25th.  So this week I will be seeing that he gets to his orthodontist appt, and being there when the carpet cleaners come to the DIL's house.

Today I think I am finally going to get to see the 'new' Harry Potter movie.  With all the trips to Texas and other stuff goin' on around here I haven't had a chance to see it yet.  I COULD wait another week and go see it on the base for $1, but I think I'll pay the extra $5 and go to the mall to see it.

My weight is staying steady at 153 to 155.  I have not been on my elliptical as I should.  I haven't been to the gym in WAY too long!  (Sad because both of those options are free).

I'm still very tired of the rain.  Everyone says we need it.  MY YARD doesn't need it!!

Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Today is my writer's group.  Our science fiction gal is getting published by an off shoot of simon and schuster.  For those of you who are in the creative writing world, you know that there are only two ways to get published: one is vanity, which no writer in their right mind would do because it labels you as self published and you never really make any money and two is you get picked up by a huge press.  Well, my friend got picked up.  Yeah.  She is the fourth out of our group to get a big contract.  I will take a minute to brag here, I edited all four of those writers' books and while it may seem through my writing here that I don't always know what's up, when I do it professionally, I'm the bomb.  Oh, and I got an agent.  Not an academic agent, but a fiction agent, which means she read my novel, liked it, and is shopping it around, so hopefully soon, I can join my four friends in the halls of real publised writers and not just an academic published, though that is good too.

So, today I will clean the house and do the laundry and iron the clothes and start getting ready for all those freakin' before school meetings and lunches and dinners and drinks.  Academe is tiresome.

And finally, I should make this a post by itself, and will because it is so long and many of you may have a similar occurence to respond.

Have a good day and I'm so sorry for the loss of one of our brothers.

Rooster <-- swinging them for you Margo

I am going to work today. It might be a short shift but enough to get me out of bed. My temp was 98.3 last night so that means I'm good to go.

The entire house was more peacefull after doing the flea treatment on the furbrats. I slept until 6:30 which is a record.

Maybe this weekend I can see the M&M's. It has been two long weeks and I miss them,

Thant's about enough excitement.

Kisses

I am so glad that you are on the way to recovery and that the fleas are going on to some other poor souls pet and home (well not them since they are dead...the best place for them too...flea heaven).

I am not for sure how you got through all the time without the M&M time you need. I thought for sure that you would be going through with drawl way before now. I am glad that you are seeing them and get to spend time with them.

I got to see Kayden a few minutes the other day. DIL was having some problem with him..he wants held all the time. The minute he saw Grandma he started smiling and cooing. I really don't think DIL liked it by the look on her face....but then again most of the time she looks like someone pissed her off...probably thinking of me.  ha ha  She never said anything but when I would talk to him he would just light up. I told Bill and then I said that he knows those that love him. He feels that and he knows when Grandma and Grandpa are there he is loved...and spoiled to I might add! Being a grandma is just like heaven on earth! Just like you told me! It is that and more!

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

It's a little after 9 a.m. and already 69 degrees ... gonna be a hot one! I know some people like the heat, but not me. I've been happy with the cool summer (saves the air conditioning bucks). I've never been a fan of the 85+ degree days. I like it at about 80 or lower. Which is why I loved living in Montana ... even when it got up to 85 during the day, the temps always went down to 50 something at night.

I'm up early drinking buckets (well, not really ... but lots) of fluids for my ultrasound of my uterus this morning. Biopsy of my cervical polyp came back normal, which is good ... every year, I have a polyp, every year, it's normal. But it has to be removed and tested. I still wondered if that was part of the reason I was retaining fluid, because suddenly, my capris a little looser on me.

Spent a whole lot of money on groceries yesterday to replenish my refrigerator ... then threw out the rest of the spoiled stuff. Had to buy things like mayo ... you know, staples. Some stuff was on sale, some wasn't. Oh well, I did talk my way into some coupons from companies like Kraft and Stouffers when I called to ask if the food was still good after sitting in the refrigerator while the power was out (interesting to note: Jello pudding snacks are shelf stable even when the power goes out; Cool Whip is not).

Work was busy last night ... five pages to do (or parts of them), including an obit of Les Paul. Interesting man ... I knew he was musician, but didn't know he invented the electric guitar, among other things. He invented the 8-track tape!

Margo, hope the showing goes well and you get a nibble or two from all this work. I'm going to be doing this next year sometime once I'm out of bankruptcy and can get the place fixed up. Not looking forward to that, because I'm such a slob.

I'm so sleepy ... only got five hours because I went to bed at 3 a.m. and had to get up early so I could drink coffee/water. I hope I can get a nap in later today before work.

Well, have a good day. I've babbled on long enough.

Happy Friday to all.
I am doing better after hearing about my back surgery. It hit me with a ton of bricks
on Tuesday Night. I did get in to see my Pastor yesterday & that helped ease some
of the fears quite a bit. I slept better & feel much better today.
We are headed to Las Vegas today to see a friend in the hospital there, her addiction
to alcohol has put her in the hospital. Problems with her liver & internal bleeding.
Stable, but, not good at all. We are dog sitting her 8 month old puppy till she gets
home. Lots of love from her & enjoying the company.
Thats it for me, Talk to you all soon.
Have a good Friday & rest of the weekend.

Marilyn, I am so glad that you talked with your Pastor. I know that it is hard to know that you need this surgery but in the end you will be so glad that you did. I am keeping you in prayers and if you need to talk just give me a call. My number is in the OFF directory.
