Just found out yesterday my WLS date could be moved up from Oct. to Sept 30.  Even though it was only a week, it puts it closer to reality now.   And I'm so obsessed.  It's all I think about.  I hope I can get through the next 3 plus weeks.

Mary, welcome to the world of excited pre-ops!!  We've all experienced what you are going thru before our WLS.   Hang in there, it will soon be over and you will be on the "loser's bench"....we have a place all dusted off for you.  Best wishes for a successful surgery and an easy recovery.....remember =  walk, walk, walk, and sip sip sip tha****er.

Welcome to the over fifties board -- we are always glad for new folks.

Thanks, Pat!   Glad to be here - first off, I certainly quality since I'm way closer to 60 than 50!   LOL
I'm excited and I know the time will pass.  It took me so long to get to this point and now I'm just elated that I'll be joining such fine folks on the losers' bench!

Welcome to the OFF board.
I was 58 last year when I had my RNY.  I really think we appreciate it more than the young because we have lived longer with the weight.
Congrats and crossing everything that you have as easy a time with it as I did.

 Hi Mary
I too am in the end of Sept gang.  I am 9/26....and I am also going crazy.  Talk about obsessed.....now that I am on the 1000 cal diet I am really stuck on that and now the workouts have kicked in...I have lost about 15 pounds!  I am playing a head game - how much can I NOT eat today.
I need to move on

 Hi Mary,

Welcome to OFF!   I'm pretty new here, too - had surgery July 16 and didn't find this board until shortly before then.

I was nervous about surgery; panicky, to some extent.  Surgery of any kind freaks me out.
I had some bumps but I'm so glad I had the surgery.

I've lost about 44 pounds.  Quite a bit at first and then the last couple of weeks have been slow.  Slow!  What am I talking about - I gained weight before surgery.
So, losing weight is a really good thing..

You'll be there before you know it.  I can tell you that my fear of missing food hasn't happened.  I feel satisfied, not hungry and only wish I had done this much sooner than I did.

Mary,

For me, the hardest part of WLS was the pre-op phase - very stressful. We will help you keep calm. Stay busy, take your 'before' measurements and pictures, start a journal, and time will fly.
