Debbiejean,

LOL LOL - too funny!  Good for you for being so brave and sharing yourself with others who probably were so anxious to see/learn!  You go!

Hi Debbie,
For people just thinking about this surgery it can be overwhelming and scary.
For them they have to know this is not the "magic bullet" but really about lifestyle change.
I was very comfortable in the seminar, they all were about my age or older.

They are doing this for their health. Women really kinda look beyond that scope with regards to what my body will look like.
Yes, some won't exercise or they wait to exercise. I'm one to push exercise. It will make you feel better in the long run.

Now there were a couple of people in wheelchairs. So sorry, but I believe they still can exercise while being in the w/c with working out with light weights and leg lifts. If they have the capability of getting to the gym we have a w/c lift and advocate going into the pool. I love it when I see those people who have the courage to get out to the gym and be in that pool. I will always go over and talk with them and if they are just on their own, I'll chit chat with them while we walk back and forth in the pool. It' s all about baby steps for most of us.

That must have been the best seminar that they had ever been too.  If you ever make your way to coastal area of NC, you have an open invitation to stay with me.  I think you would be a blast to be friends with.  Enjoyed your post.

Well thank you so much!

I am kind of "wild and crazy" love being active, I was always active even in my fluffy body but I had to take naps then as I got older my health went down the tubes.

I'm going on a cruise next month, my hubby never has traveled so he is out of his comfort zone. My goal is for him to have a blast and want to go on a cruise every couple of years.

We are going with friends and one of those is an old dancing partner. Last cruise we were on together we danced every night/day. I taught line dancing at the pool during the day and had everyone up and dancing all around the pool. Towards the end of the trip the cruise director asked me what I did for a living. I told him I managed 300 volunteers at a hospital. He replied I knew you had to work with people, I've never seen so many people get up and dance around here. He offered me a job and I told him to hire me when I retire! LOL

I figure people are not intimidated by me at all. I'm open and friendly, not judgmental and at the time I was 270 pounds, teaching line dancing in my bathing suit. I wasn't self conscious about my body until one lady came up to me to tell me I was brave teaching in my bathing suit. HA! I just told her I look the same with clothes on and the same with a suit on and I don't go into hiding for anyone. I very nicely put this slim person with a little attitude in place.

Now I get the "why are you being so nice to me, I'm fat, why are you talking to me" from heavy people. I will always love the fluffy gal in me. I'm humble but I've always been the "you can hear me before you can see me gal". I was never a wall flower ever. So I really enjoy watching the shy reserved people come out of hiding and "bloom". Emerging butterfly's I call them!
You sound like a butterfly yourself!!!

oh you definitely sound like my kind of person.  I am a talkative and at times loud person.  I have fun where ever I go.  I talk with sleeping people, it doesn't matter.  Funny thing is, I married a quiet man.  I think that is because it allows me to talk more.
I love the fluffy gal in me as well.  She didn't shy away from situations or people.  I think you shine a bit more than I do but I don't mind.  I will sit back and watch the show.
