OT - Is it just me?? Finding joy in something silly......

Is it just me or does anyone feel joy out of fitting in smaller clothes. Sometimes I think I'm too old to be enjoying it this much.....but then I feel more like I'm 40 instead of over 50.   I so enjoy shopping now.  I laugh at myself when I find a dress I like but can't find it in a SMALL ENOUGH size.  

I am amazed at how many really nice/pretty bras I now see in size 46DDD....where were they when I needed them....LOL!

Anyhow, I had 1/2 an hour to kill this morning so I stopped in a store and walked out with 2 dresses and a shirt.  Do you know how much I love the fact that Matthew said the dresses look good and then asked if they a little big and said maybe I should get a smaller size!  A smaller size????  LOL.... One is size Small and the other size 8!!  I'll go see if I can get it in size 6.  NEVER did I think I'd be wearing these sizes.  WHAT JOY!

Thanks for letting me share.....sometimes it's just nice to share a silly joy with other ladies who might understand.

It's not silly at all to enjoy it so much.  At first I felt like a traitor walking into the Women's Dept. from Plus Sizes.  Now I find I can sneak over to the Junior's sizes. WOW.

That's AWSOME! I'm starting to understand about 'silly joys' myself. Sharing here is the only place where I know everyone will understand.

 My God Dee I can't believe how much weight you have lost in such a short time!  That is wonderful.

It is such a joy to buy the smaller size. I go thru the samethig. Whe I cant find the smaller size I get mad!!!!!

I used to feel the same way Ruth.  I'd think "Golly, I'm almost 67 years old and act like I'm 35-40....I shouldn't be this excited".  But what the heck, we've earned this right and by golly, I'm going to keep on enjoying every new little experience.  I still find myself wandering into the PLUS size area and have to think to myself....No, you don't have to go there anymore.  I wear size 8 jeans....I haven't tried any dresses yet and am anxious to do that soon. .I have thin long legs. (5'7") and even went and bought myself some ankle boots with 3 inch heels.  It is so true that the only place we can discuss this is here on OFF where everyone knows what the heck we are talking about and can relate.  I can feel bones and ribs I knew I had but could never feel before the 118 pound loss.  We've all been there and you new people just starting out on this journey will someday too, experience this joy!

I totally understand you! Planning on doing some shopping at an upscale resale store tomorrow after water aerobics. Hopefully will find a sharp dress for my up coming cruise.

Oh yeah girls...lets all feel the joy! We do understand.

I love these stories!  I am so excited I can't believe this will be me in a year a women enjoying truly enjoying my life at 60.  It gives me soooooo much hope - I am still at the dis-believe stage where you hope that all of your dreams, for a size smaller than 24W, will come true.
I want to wear boots that are slim and sexy and jackets and sweaters that can be buttoned.  I want cute PJ's and a bathing suite that doesn't swing when its dry and stick to every bulge when it's wet.  Yeah!!! I'm with ya girlfriends! 

Ruth i know exactly how you feel.....my husband and i ride a motorcycle and when i lost 110 pounds i went and bought a new pair of chaps with a new leather jacket and acturally felt sexy in them...both were smalls and i dont think it is silly at all...and im 68...plan on riding for many many more years. 

It's not silly at all!  Enjoy every minute of fitting into those small sizes!  I haven't gotten as small as you but I love to go shopping now. It is a please to shop in "normal" stores!
