Connie,
I'm glad I could make you laugh. They are such monsters, but lovable ones. Tom too.

I'm with you about hanging the cats.....  Although, I don't improve the situation any by hanging jingle bells on the doorknobs.  It's such fun to watch them play, but they don't differentiate between the toys and the "no-no"s.  My fault, I know.  I'd better re-train myself.

Hope you feel better soon.

Nettie,

Glad to know Tom is human (lol). . .  he always sounds like he is the "perfect" man and I guess he is for you!

Hugs, Laureen

I love it, hang the cats and decorate them! Scooter and Nettie were curious about the boxes too ... all cats love boxes! But they more or less let me get things out. What they really love is the Christmas throw I put on the couch. As soon as that went on, both of them were on the couch ... I don't know why they enjoy that so much ... something new to put their fur on? Or because it has a fireplace on it? And they love sitting with the stuffed animals (The Grinch and his singing dog, Max).

Annette, I hope you are feeling better   ... boy, men! If Tom were feeling poorly, you know he'd let you know it.

Busy crazy here at work again. Thank God it's Friday for sure!!!

Went to the doctor after work last night. My BP was up...Like a fool I listened to the Red Cross and the nurse here at work in employee health, they though I didn't need my bp meds anymore because it was 100/60...hummmmmmm....at my doc's after being off the meds it was 170/100. I'm back on my meds again.

My weight is also up 13 pounds, my clothes still fit but my size 6 pants are snug.
It's back to the gym and I'm back to walking in the snow. That's okay, I will take that time to meditate and count my blessings. I'll just have to dress really warm.
I know what to do to get these pounds off but I will have to work at it and it will come off slow. I will stay off the scales because I don't own any! LOL

I guess I will always be a work in progress, tending my body like a garden, it's always changing. I will have to be really careful during the holidays for sure and stay away from cookies...I love cookies.

My naturally thin buddy across the hall who I try to emulate said she always has fought 15-20 pounds. It's nice to have someone be honest about how they keep their weight off and their frustrations dealing with weight too. I've have never been a "normal weight" so I'm learning a whole new way of life for me. I'm going on 3 years post op and I'm struggling. I will prevail though!!

Hi Eileen and all my OFF friends,
I've been off the board for a few days with a crappy cold/cough.  Got it on Thanksgiving from the Grands.  I haven't been getting much sleep because as soon as I lay down I start coughing.  It takes all my energy to come to work.
Tomorrow I get to see the Grands again . . . just for an overnight stay.  They are all down to go to a dinner hosted by my husband's 87 year old Aunt at a restaurant.  She's giving it in honor of her late husband who died in Jan. of this year.  She will be giving each great niece and great nephew $5,000 each.  My son can really use it with four kids.  It will be a nice time.  This makes it worth the 12 hours driving to and from on a weekend.
Tonight we party with the committee we serve on to help the boy scout troop.  I'm making chicken wings.  I said I would make an appetizer.  We do a fun grab bag.  You can choose a wrapped gift from the pile or take one away from someone else.  Can't unwrap it till everyone has one.  It makes for some laughs because people keep taking it away from each other if it's wrapped pretty or looks interesting.
They are saying we will get some snow on Sat. night.  I just took pictures of my pink begonias on the back porch that are still full of blossoms.  I guess they'll be gone this weekend.
For those of you facing challenges, keep strong, have faith and know you are cared for.  Big HUGS to all.
Bev

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back George.  I read your other post and sounds like you had a great vacation.  Good for you and Mary.

Annette feel better.

I am still down with this cold.  I am suppose to go grocery shopping and I just can't.  I should run to the bank but can't do that either.  I need some energy.

I am doing nothing today.  Maybe working on my dads blanket and try to stop coughing all the time.

Nothing really new here.

Hope everyone gets a hug today.  I need one. lol

Good morning Eileen and everyone.....

It was good to see George here this morning....and Marc posted too....nice to have the guys back!!

I finally broke down and put up some Christmas decorations yesterday. Not everything but enough. Still doesn't feel like Christmas....maybe it will in a few days.

I only need to work about two hours this morning and then I am on weekend time....it has been a long hard week!

My prayers continue for so many here....so much illness, pain and grief....so many struggling.

I wish you all a good day!!

Love and hugs to all....connie d
