Thursday....what's new?????
What a beautiful friend you've had in Joan and you to her. . . life is never long enough when we have special angels like the one you have in Joan, but from her perch in heaven, she will just be whispering in God's ear what he needs to do to keep you safe. . .
Hugs, Laureen

Went to my oncologist yesterday and was told that I don't have to go back!! I am five years out from my diagnosis of breast cancer, was on tamoxifen for most of that time and am clear now. I am low risk for a return of the disease, so they let me loose. I'm a happy woman.
I've been off work for four weeks now, and I'm a bit bored. I am no good without structure of some kind, and I can't seem to give any to myself so... I am going in to work tomorrow to hang around, see if I can get my desk back from one of the people who taught for me and start to get ready for the new semester starting Jan 11. I am hoping with the continued weight loss that I will feel less fatigue in the new year and have the energy to get all the marking done! (It will be nice to see my colleagues again and wish them a Merry Christmas.)
Margo - hope you get all packed and moved so that you can relax for a while
Brenda - nice to see you back
To everyone else, have a great day.
Margaret

MORNING OFF!!!!!!!!
well i got the cookies frosted and some boxed up and ready to mail to mom....only had one crying spell while frosting them....when i had my max (springer spaniel) helping me decorate and frost cookies if one would break we would share it...well i was frosting an angel and lo and behold it broke...bandit jumped up really fast and touched my leg and it was like he knew we would share that cookie!!! i have this strange feeling that it was max asking for the sharing of that broken cookie!!! bandit never did that before!!! but i shared it with him and he ate it and then went to lay back on the couch.... weird huh?
got the gifts almost wrapped last night...back is killing me. will finish that tonight.
rick went shopping with his early gift of gift card from his mom to shop for me!!! i told him he didn't have to use his gift for me but he insisted on it!! no clue what he got me either...

We made a plan for Christmas eve now. My friend Cindi (single & alone) is coming for dinner. I think we'll make a beef and wild mushroom stroganoff and a salad. She'll be fun to have over and we don't see enough of her.
I'm tired today, but what do I expect when I'm out every night of the week! Hope people are doing well as can be today.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
Bill is washing his winter coat and some of Kayden's things at the laundry just over in a building a bit from us. He is getting ready for his trip since he is leaving in the morning early. I will probably just wander around the house wondering what in the world to do while he is gone. I know that I have to go see Kayden's pictures in the morning...they got done last Saturday. Then on Sunday is church and that is when I have to present the Christmas gift to Pastor and our office manager. Other than those nothing is else is planned.
It is cold here and it seems like it is here to stay for the rest of the winter. They said that it might get up to 30 today but they weren't for sure on that. So if that happens we will be having a heat wave....a tropical heat wave. We have had snow but nothing to speak off. I would be happy with snow on Christmas Eve for church and then Christmas morning. I like Christmas morning to look like a Christmas card....yes...I do dream a lot! ha ha
I have been to my neighbors already to help here with some phone calling. She is getting more and more confused. I think that her age is really catching up with her fast. She is going to be 92 in July and up until a few months ago she was really different. Now that her age is ganging up she is more forgetful and mixed up. Her family doesn't notice simply because they don't want to and for another reason because they aren't around her enough to notice. They are there to simply get her great grandchildren and move on. Most of the time they make Virginia take the kids out and buckle them into the seats. They are the only ones that don't notice the change because it might inconvenience them for the things that they want for her to do for them.
I guess I should get going. I have some things to do and time is ticking away. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Know that you are all in my heart all the time. Have a super duper day and take time to smell the roses...even if they are silk ones! You can imagine the smell of them!
Boy Christmas is almost here. I spent two hours on the phone with one of my friends this morning. She just lost her husband and likes to talk. I take the time to do it and help keep her mind off of it.
My inlaws chose to have my husbands brother over for Christmas day than us. After she told us we were coming. We will go the day after Christmas. I was a little offended but there is nothing I can do. Not going to let it ruin my spirit. So what.
I am done wrapping presents and was going to bake today. But.... I forgot to buy sugar and splenda. It seems I am more forgetful during the holiday season. Oh well sign I am getting old I guess.
Margo good luck on the packing and the move. Glad your husband is coming home.
George, thank you and Mary for the lovely card. It brightend my day. It is so nice to get something homeade. Thanks again for thinking of me.
Well..... got to go get busy, doing laundry and odds and ends around the house.
Have a nice day everyone and don't forget to smile today.
Mary
I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

Will this moving truck be the last one? I hope all goes well with your planned move and that Michael is in a better mood.
George, I got the lovely card from you and Mary. Where did you get those transparent envelopes from? That is neat. Thanks so much. Eileen, thanks for your card too.
I made up my final list of presents and groceries to buy. Have to go to the bank and get some crisp cash presents too. Hubby has a big lunch today so he is not going to need much for supper so he can fix it himself. I'm going shopping straight from work.
I have a great nephew with a 1st birthday too.
Not much going on at home. I'm just tired. I still have to wrap everything. We just have dinner on Sat. at my brothers so we can exchange presents since we all have different plans for Christmas. Weds. we leave for the grandkids.
Everyone have a good day.
