Big Bump in the Road

Hi everyone!  Long time since I posted, but I have been lurking and trying to keep up with you all. As most of you know I am working 2 jobs and taking care of a mom and MIL that both have demetia/alzhimers. Busy, busy, busy!  Almost too busy to take care of me.

I have been fighting pneumonia for almost a month now. The coughing caused by band to become too tight and has caused dilation in my pouch and esophagus.  Bad news in they took the 6.4 cc of fluid out of my band for six weeks. I have no restriction at all and am fighting to keep from "finding" any of the 80+ lbs I have lost.  Good news is it should heal and I will get refilled, a little at a time when it does.

Anyway, thanks for listening and by the way I also have WOW to share.  Ran into a fellow that I worked with for 6 1/2 years and spoke to him. He said hi with a real puzzled look on his face so I ask if he knew who I was and he said no I'm sorry, I don't.  I just laughed and asked if he remembered Vera from the Courthouse ( he was a magistrate) and he said yes he sure did was I related to her.  I said Actually I am her!  His jaw just about hit the ground!  I told him I was going to take that as a compliment!!  It was really kind of funny, but sure made my day!

Hugs to you all,
Vera

Hugs to you, busy gal you are taking care of the moms. Hang in there. You gotta take time for you. We always forget about the caregiver don't we. YOU are loved and appreciated.

Now...that was a great WOW for sure. Made me smile.
Try to hang tough with eating right during your lapband unfill.

What a cool WOW moment Vera.  I'll bet you were just giddy after that.

I know how hard it is to take care of someone with alzheimers.  We finally found an assisted care home for my MIL.  Saw her today and I'll bet if she asked us one time how the boys were, she asked us 15 times.  It's very trying, especially if you're with them all the time.  Prayers for you.  Remember, take the time for you too.

Hope you heal soon Vera.  Gotta love those WOW moments.  Especially when someone doesn't recognize you.  Those are the best!
