Aloha Jeannie....It is SO GOOD to see you posting! I'm so glad I got my son's computer working, so I could at least come in and read posts. I've missed a lot lately. I have five more days in Calif. and then back to my sunny Maui!

You have gone through so much physically, and I am loving hearing that you are on the upswing. I, too, struggle with losing too much, and know that that is a problem lots of people would love to have, but it's a little scary when you eat LOTS and still continue to lose. While I'm taking care of my grands, I eat on the run, and will surely have lost more weight by the time I get home. I've gotten lately so I eat calorie laden things because I can and will not gain from it. I'm pretty sure this will come to an end one day and I will again have to go back to my routine....but for now I'm eating anything that appeals to me....but try to make it healthy most of the time.

Please keep coming in and posting. I really miss you when you aren't here.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Good Morning everyone!

Still hanging with my daughter's family. Hoping the twins are able to go to daycare today. They slept better. Still coughing but no fever. Son in law still feels awful and will be off work today also. He finally kept some soup down yesterday. Sure hope everyone else doesn't get what he's had.

I finally got out for a good walk with their big dog yesterday. Nice thing about her as she helped pull the hill coming home!

Hannah who is our little attitude girl has finally decided that she can say something besides "uh oh" and "NO!" Today she brought her sippy cup to me. I asked her if she wanted some milk and out popped "Oh-tay!" How cute is that? The twins will be 2 mid March and are adding new words daily. Of course many of them only they can understand. They do a few signs which help. Erin wants them to use words but a few signs sure help when the translation of their language is hard to come up with!

Well, I need to try to get a bit more sleep before our day starts. Thinking of you all and sending positive thougthts your way.

Isn't it fun watching them grow?

My daughter has taught her kids signs and continues to teach them sign language all the time.  The oldest is now 7 and still learning.  No deafness in the family, Penny is just a natural learner and teacher.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Aloha Karen....I had to laugh at the "O-tay." I love it! My littlest, Zaney, will be two in May, so close in age with your twins. He is so funny when he tries to talk. He will repeat anything, and the syllables are all there, but the words are his very own creation! We all ask him to say silly things, and he always tries. Yesterday I said "Zaney......say fuzzy dolphin." He says "uzzy doo fin." We laugh with him a lot, but with two older brothers he really is getting a lot of attention and teaching.

Have fun....and get some rest soon.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Whhhooooo!!! It's almost Friday...I wish my life away sometimes looking forward to my weekends.

It's quiet right now at work, soon to get busy. Gotta run a report this morning.

Did spin class last night after work. Tonight I'll work out in the pool for sure. BF wanted to spin yesterday so I changed my workout plans...I'm flexible with that. Karen Sue taught the class and she is just a wild woman, it was her 4th class she taught that day. Class was full and she gave up her bike and walked around like a drill Sargent, pushing us to the max! 2 other people were turned away because we ran out of bikes...yep it's January for sure, the gym is crazy in Jan.!

The day of the week does not matter for me the next two weeks, except for when I have to be at each job.  Working the full time job 19 days straight.  Next break, tentatively, is Feb 5th (and if they offer OT I can work, I will continue on).

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

George, it is so funny that you said that The Human Target is like McGuyer.  That is exactly what I told my husband last night.  Cross between that and shows like the mentalist and Liar.  A bit of techy stuff and some mental stuff.  Far fetched but entertaining none the less.  ( I say that but I took my shower and missed most of it, lol)
I hope all will feel better soon of their ailments.  I am blessed to have good health right now.  I do get the occassional aches and pains.  I am in a yoga class and am working on my knees.  They are tight and need stretching.  At first I wondered if yoga was too much and if it was arthritis.  It may be but the yoga is helping.  I have more flexability in them now and although it is challenging, I am enjoying it.

I went to the dr's for my one yr out appt. on Tuesday.   I have lost a total of 176 lbs.  I have gone from wearing a size 26/28 to a 4.  If I get the tummy tuck, I may end up a 2????  That would be hard to wrap my head around.  The PA said I was a poster child.  He actually told me that I am to stop losing weight and start to maintain.  I am 40 lbs less than their initial goal for me.   My BMI is 23.6.  He said that I have muscle so I should realize that alters my BMI and weight.  He thinks I am actually 3 to 5 lbs underweight.  Can you believe that?  Underweight?  lol  It gives me a buffer I guess. I am actually scared to maintain.  Losing was one thing but to maintain is another.  Wish me luck.
My body does not define who I am but I am trying to define my body.  It  gets easier with every pound I drop.

Congrats Sandy.  You've lost so much in just one short year.  You definitely are a poster child.  I'm sure you'll be successful with your maintenance too.
It is what it is.

Thanks but it is still scary.  I know how to gain and I know how to lose but to maintain?  This is new stuff for me.
