I'm a little worried because all of my testing is coming back normal. I don't have high blood pressure, thyroid problems, diabetes, high cholesterol or anything like that. Not that i want too, but I'm afraid its going to effect my chances of an insurance approval. I'm seeing a lap band doctor who has suggested the RNY for me. After doing my research i have decided to go with the RNY. I have my pulmonary and psychology testing done in 2 weeks. I'm half way there but im so afraid that if there is nothing wrong which there obviously is...i won't get an approval. I did just find out i have PCOS and that weight loss can help that alot. I have severe pain due to PCOS.

Slow down...breathe deeply.
PCOS is a comorbidity for weight loss isn't it?  If your dr. is still persuing you having the RNY then I would think he would be pretty sure of insurance approval.  If you are worried call your insurance company and ask them what they consider co-morbidities.
I hope it works out for you...you..we all deserve the best.

You qualify with a BMI of over 40. You also have PCOS. Do you have knee pain or back pain?
Insurances now know you will have bigger problems down the road.
Call your insurance company and find out what is need to qualify.

I only had borderline high blood pressure and knee and back arthritis ... and I got my surgery approved. If you have a high BMI, you are at risk for hbp, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. As a nurse friend told me when I said "all" I had wrong with me was bad knees and bad back, "you're obese ... that's a disease all in itself."

Unfortunately, the insurance companies don't think like the health professionals. Keep fighting.

I didn't have any co-morbidities & my insurance approved my. What I found out is, it's mostly the BMI and previous diet history. If everything else checks out you'll be approved.
Hope this helps
Blessings,
Linda

PS: My BMI was 63, I am now below 40!!!

Not that I think I am an expert, but one of the things that was mentioned her says it all.  Even though you don't have any issues right now, insurance companies know of the possibilities of issues developing later in life because of the obesity.  Good luck to ya.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
