good monday morning to all revue
Good morning Jacki and OFF family,
Jackie: Sounds like Bob's celebration of Life Party was wonderful. Sending goooooooood thoughts your way and glad your getting back to work if only for a few hours today.
Well folks it's nasty weather here in Michigan. I'm trying to keep my spirits up today. My wonderful hubby is going to take care of Angel today, he is going to the vets and putting her down. I know I will see her at the Rainbow's edge. Sigh...I love my fur babies.
Hubby and I went to Ludington for a funeral (my boss/friend's mom's funeral) We went early so we could drive around and went to Ludington State Park. Saw 6 deer up close. They have one campsite plowed out for winter campers...Buuuurrrrr!! I bought a season's sticker so we are all set up for camping this year for the State Parks.
Lots of us are struggling with regain. I'm one of them. If the weather behaves I'm going to spin class after work. It's suppose to clear up at 5pm so I'm planning on it. Gotta call Deb B. and see if she will spin with me.
My BIL is getting married Saturday to the gal I set him up with, she is one of my spin instructors and a personal trainer. Hey...this is a plus for me, she even made my personal workout schedule for the machines. She is a year older than me. Told me she have me running in the summer, I told her I never liked to run but I walk really fast so we could exercise when I go up to Mackinaw and do the trails with her. I will do the bridge walk again this year. I love doing that.

I got an early phone call this morning. My brother is in the hospital with a gallbladder attack and they want to take it out. They need to get his BP down to a reasonable number first. His daughter is with him, and I'll be helping out by making sure his dog gets out as needed, I guess.
Can terriers be trained to use a litter box? Sure would be easier.
Just kidding....
Work tonight, training Tues and Wed days, then back on a plane. My cat sitter will be able to retire. She likes staying here, says it feels like a vacation. Complete with all the cat hair she can inhale.....
Gonna go see my kids and my grandson for a few days.
I'm excited!

Hi Jacki,
Glad that the party was wonderful and the presentation sounds wonderful too! Don't have words, but I think Margo's commentary said it well. Seems this past year is about defining a new normal for you and I wish you the best as you go through what is bound to be some challenging moments ahead. My location is close enough that if you ever want to get together, I am more than willing to make the trip to your area to do so. . .
Sending you hugs and good wishes, Laureen

Hi Jacki and my OFF family:
The story of Bob's "party" sounds wonderful. It's what I want. My cousin Patti did something similar with her ex-husband's memorial. Even though they were divorced, they were still close because of the kids (they were married nearly 30 years when they got divorced). They were still friendly after the divorce, so she arranged a memorial that he wanted. She had a luncheon with all his favorite foods, his songs playing in the background, his favorite drinks, etc., showed a DVD of photos, just like you did. It was not the traditional "funeral" but it sure sounds nice. I'm sure Bob would have enjoyed it, too.
I've always said when I die, I want a party, not a mourning. I want people to drink, eat and tell stories about me, good and bad. There's one song I want played: the Peter, Paul and Mary version of "And When I Die." I think it's a fitting song to the end of a life. One child born and the world to carry on. You will go on. It will be hard at first, because he was dear to you. He had a piece of your heart. But you will go on.
Well, I finished off the disability form yesterday. Only took another half hour. Got the rest of the info needed to send off to the office so I can have my phone interview on Friday. I'll have to put in the mailbox because I'm certainly not going out in this weather. It's really snowing now. I was supposed to have an appointment with my psychologist, but canceled it. It was funny, because her office called to ask if I could come in at 6:30 p.m. I told the scheduler that I already said I wasn't coming in in this weather. So we'll just plan on another day (she had a doctor's appointment this morning, which is why she wanted to reschedule).
So all my big plans for today are out the door. I'll just sit home and watch the flakes fly, do some stuff around the house, check the job boards. My other laidoff coworker friend has been sending job listings; I applied for one in Oak Brook, Ill., and they wanted me to go to a group interview on Wednesday, but more snow is forecast for Wednesday here and I'm sure in Chicago, so I'm not going. Plus, I have prior engagements on Tuesday (unemployment office) and Thursday (Nettie's tooth pulling), so I would have to drive 8 hours in one day, not easy on my knee. So I decided against it.
Anyway, nothing much going on today. Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe and warm if you're in the snow zone.

Jacki, I am so sorry for you. My family has a similar tradition.
It does help to hear about all the lives someone has touched. I hope & pray for your healing soon.
Not much going on here today. I guess I don't have much energy this time of year. Just waiting for it to warm up enough to play outside.
The puppy is doing good. Started him on moist puppy chow yesterday. We take him out of the box to play with & he is fast! It takes 2 of us to keep up with him. Marc finally named him Schroder, keeping with the Charlie Brown theme.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning Jacki and my OFFer's
How nice you had a good turn out for Bob's celebration. My fear is that no one would show up for my funeral/memorial. Silly, huh? Anyway, it's time for you to begin a new chapter of your life, finding your own definition of normal. As with all things, we'll be here for you!
My cold seems to be worse today, I'm just miserable. The repairmen came to fix the garage door, so now I'm going back to bed. I never, ever do that, but today's the day.
I'll get in my water and food as I can. Other than that, not doing a dang thing!
hugs and love to all

Good afternoon Jacki and OFF friends,
Jacki, the celebration of Bob's life yesterday sounded wonderful. I'm glad that your sons have been so supportive of you. Hugs as you move forward in life as it will now be. If you need to PM me, I'm here for you.
I'm late posting today. I have been hitting and missing lately, mostly lurking on the boards. We had the best weekend. Our daughter came in from NY and we went to visit my other daughter and then took my granddaughter bowling and shopping. My granddaughter spent the night with us and then yesterday my daughter and DH made homemade egg rolls - lol - their bond cooking together - lol - we hung out together yesterday and had a wonderful day. She left to go back to NY at 4 a.m. this morning.
Today, it's back on routine for me. Working, treadmill, and then practice my piano lesson. After that, the rest of the day/evening will be mine.
Well, I'd better get back to work since it's super busy today.
Peace, health and happiness to all my OFF friends!
Debbie

Jacki - it sounds like the party/memorial was really good. Celebrating those memories are what helps us to move on. I'm glad so many attended and that you had lots of beautiful moments.
Others who are struggling - all the best to you! I hope things smooth out in the road ahead.
I am not doing anything too earth-shattering. Applying for jobs a bit here, too, Eileen. My job is looking pretty vulnerable right now. I just applied for one today, and we'll see what pans out. I'll keep looking, anyway.
The weekend was busy and fun - coffee with the WLS group, knitting lesson from my friend Kim, breakfast Sunday with my sister, and then a couple of friends came over. Really a nice, social weekend. Now back to the grindstone...
