Okay, so it is Monday --- What's new?
George, I hope your friend continues to improve. It sounds like a very inspiring and hopeful day.
Yesterday I cleaned like a mad woman while Gary went to work for 3 hours. All I have left to do today is clean my office and bedroom. Shouldn't take too long, then I'll spend most of the afternoon cooking. My salon owner fell out of a tree and dislocated her elbow and won't be working for 3-4 weeks. I'll pack up a bunch of stuff for her so she doesn't have to worry about cooking. Being self employed, she won't have a lot of extra cash to buy groceries, either. So, we'll all pitch in and help her out.
Last night we watched the Oscars. This was what we did for our first date 29 years ago, so it's a big tradition in our house. We love critiquing the stars as they come in. Gary's just so funny about his opinions regarding dress and hair styles. Gee, you'd think he'd been married to a stylist for 28 years!
Well, that's it in a nutshell for me. Short and sweet. Hope you all have a great day!

We had a nice quiet weekend. Michael went with me to get a few things, got him out in the sunshine. Today he goes back to dialysis and I go to a doctor appt, too.
He is already down in weight from the surgery (dialysis takes care of the water wt.), and his numbers (diabetes) are great on his significantly reduced insulin. I think he is feeling better and better.
I don't work Mondays for awhile (unless they come up with another project for me that brings in $$$), so I'll check back later. Good news is 3-day weekend, bad news is reduced paycheck. Oh, well. We'll figure it out.
Happy Monday.

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
Wow, the power of prayer is more awesome than words can ever express! I'm glad to hear your friend is better and not in grave condition anymore! About the screw-up--oh well, it happens.
We had a lovely day yesterday. I was out in the afternoon with my youngest--indoors, shopping. Oh well. She needed a good pair of shoes and some new clothes for the job she is starting this week at our Acme. She'll be in the deli department which, I think, will be stressful but not as terrible as being a cashier. The older two are/were cashiers and hated it. Today I need to take her for a drug test and then she starts training on Thursday I think.
I have a doctor appointment (same old same old) and the guy that does our water system has to come out for yearly maintenance. Otherwise, nothing on the horizon so far.
Have a marvelous Monday everyone!

I noticed your avatar and you mentioned you have been an interpreter. The way your hands are in the picture it looks like you are doing 2 handed signing. Are you? My family has a lot of deafness in it and my mom and grandma and aunts use to do the 2 handed signing. I just loved watching it but never learned it to good. My cousin is a interpreter for the High School and my other cousin is a interpreter and has traveled all over the world doing it for the last 32 years.
Just wondering..........
I've just been going back through my email trying to catch up and I found this notification! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. :P
It does look like I'm signing, doesn't it? It's just a coincidence, though, I'd steepled my hands except for one finger, lol.
How do your cousins like interpreting? I loved it!
My cousins and I are all fluent in two-handed signing but most of my family isn't. They either used home signs or lipreading.
When I was a little girl, I didn't know how to sign either and I loved to watch it too. My mother didn't want my brother and I to learn sign language because she was ashamed. She went to school in a time when the deaf were made to feel like sign language was dirty or something stupid people did. Shameful! My cousins learned to sign because my uncle couldn't speak! Otherwise if my aunt (mom's sister) had had her way, they wouldn't have learned either!
So I'm guessing there's some hereditary stuff in your family with deafness? We had some on my mom's side but it seems to be gone now. No one since my mom and aunt were born have been deaf or hearing impaired.

Prayers going out for all those in need, if for physical needs emotional needs or job related. Have a great spring like day everyone
Good morning, ya'll.
Monday! Sunshine! Warm! Hooray!
We stayed up and watched the Oscars all the way to the end. Didn't get to bed until past midnight! The Geek Squad came and tweaked our new 65" TV last Thursday. None of us could really tell any difference. Until last night. Everyone's heads were cut off!! We recorded the Oscars on that TV, and I went in and recorded them on the 55" tv in the living room so they can see the difference when I call them back.
My DIL and my daughter have apparently been talking! I do love my girls. My DIL called last night to say she was going with me when I get the results of the liver ultrasound. That will be Wednesday. They are worried, bless their hearts. I have confidence that whatever the problem was it was just a blip and all is well now. Or if not, it is something easily corrected. I want to get going on my 3 final chemo sessions!!!! Then I can get on with the rest of my life.
I hope everyone who is struggling finds the light at the end of the tunnel. I also believe in the power of prayer.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
George...the Lord was working through your Pastor for sure!
I believe in Miracles and the really good doctors do too!
Hi OFF family,
Well I'm still fighting this cold and I'm winning the battle.
Brought some maternity clothes at a 2nd hand store, everything was a dollar and I really made out. Even bought me 3 pairs of pants and 4 tops.
I'm embracing this sunshine! People in Michigan really appreciate the sun when we get it. Snow is melting all over and our yard is muddy and I can't stand it. YUCK!
Hubby built some "docks" to our pole barn and to the kennel so I wouldn't get my shoes all muddy and sink it. We have 10 acres in the country...it just gets muddy, but I do enjoy living out in the country now. I use to be a city girl...then married my wonderful hubby and learned to enjoy the country.
Hugs to everyone and George I'm praying for your friend.
