Quick question
You are right on track. Just keep exercising, that's the key along with making those lifestyle eating changes. This is forever, not a race and we are all different. We lose weight and inches at different times.
Losing the weight is the easy part, keeping it off for lifetime is the challenge.
I'm in the process of trying to find balance.
With all the exercise I do my body has changed.
I'm up from a size 6/8 to 10/12 now but I have increased my weight lifting and challenging my self.
I did have a flat butt when I was 6/8. Now I have a nice booty with all the spin classes and weight lifting and now I'm riding my bike more. My legs are very firm. I like my body. It's all the head crap I have to deal with and accepting where my body wants to be.
I don't know if I'll ever get back in those size 6's. I felt great being that small but I missed my curves. Now I'm trying to find out if I can have my curves and go down to a size 6.
I did spin class and was checking out the different sizes everyone was. The really tiny young gals didn't have curves or boobies.
I am built different, I am me. I have to decide what I want.
Because indeed with just exercise and changing those exercise routines I can be in a 6...but do I want to do that? I would have to limit my calories more and increase my workouts.
Accepting myself and loving me is important. I refuse to agonize about my body. Yep, I'm gonna accept me as I am...how ever I turn out. I have more energy. I plan to ride my bike more and walk more. I'm healthy. Size 10/12 is good. I will just keep on keeping on and not stress about my body at age 54.

Thanks, Debbie. You have great insight and self-acceptance...I like that - lol
My DH told me yesterday how good I looked. I bought some new spring clothes, size 10 pants and size medium tops. I didn't buy expensive clothing, but some new things that fit.....I don't have to tell you how GREAT it feels to be in "normal" size clothing again. When you dress in clothes that fit, it makes you feel so much better!
I actually don't like the "skinny" look. I think curvey is good and more attractive - lol - Keep up the GREAT job you're doing!

I'm really in a rut. I'm losing still, albiet very slowly but I accept that. My major problem is exercise. I have no one to exercise with, other than the walks with my dogs and occasionally my hubby. I think I want to join a gym, but that would also mean going alone. The only exercise I get is walking or shopping, which too is walking. It sort of depresses me to look at what kind of exercise people do, and know I should be doing it, but I'm not. I just don't know how to get the umph and do it. Just do it, I know... I guess I'm just sort of down on myself these days. My inner thighs are sooooo gross with the saggy skin. I think I hate that most. I've been periodically trying an inner thigh exercise that I looked up on google, but I'm not being real consistant.
Maybe tomorrow I'll have a better attitude.
Congratulations, Debbie, on doing the exercise. We only have a stationary bike and I absolutely HATE it. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and get on it eh?
Take care all.

Jan,
I have a friend who lives in another state. Each day we report in to each other about our exercise regimen on the treadmill. I have bumped up my workout and I can't tell you how great it feels - lol - is that me saying that??? I can't believe it.
You should set a goal for yourself each day, if only 10-15 minutes to start. Set a goal which is attainable. Even if this week you set 3 days aside, at 10-15 minutes. Complete the goal, and next week set another one, maybe increasing the amount of time on the bike.
I read about so many people going to the gym and working out hard, but I realize that just isn't me. For one, I have balance issues with dysequilibrium and I wouldn't be able to do the more strenuous things. However, I really need to do some muscle strengthening with weights, even if only a start of 5 pounds in each hand, at 10 repetitions to start.
Congratulations on your success, Jan. I think you've done really great! We've come a long way baby - lol

NO SH*T. We sure have come a long way. OH really helps too.
Gary just got back from PT. I asked him if we could go to the gym and check it out, and he told me to check on-line. I'm going to go with him to PT on Thursday, because the gym and PT are in the same building. I really need to do something. The saggy thighs are the worst for me.

We are jsut a couple of weeks apart. I have also started worring about the last 30plus pounds. My weight loss has slowed down but I am also eating more. I am trying to get back on track. I am not eating bad, just not like I used to. So today it is more protien and exercise. I have not been good at all when it comes to exercise, but I hate all the loose skin, so I am getting on the tread mill and working out. Good luck, I know we can do this.
Debbie,
WOW, we are close in surgery dates. I'm finding that I have "head" hunger - not really hungry, and I'm really working hard at not going back to old eating habits. I'm finding it's getting more difficult the further out I am. I go to lots of support groups which is crucial for me to be and remain successful.
You're right, we can do this. About 2 weeks ago, I started doing treadmill 5 days per week, 40 minutes each session. Today, I was down a pound from last week - WOO HOO! Definitely get on your treadmill and maybe we can all support/encourage each other to stay on track and move our booties - lol
