It's almost Friday here on the west coast so I thought I'd start us out. I hope to go for a big walk today but if the weather is too bad I'll plug in the treadmill in the garage, borrow Erin's IPOD and  try to contain my boredom. Try as I might that treadmill seems to take twice as long as walking outside. Hope you all have a great Friday.

I wholeheartedly agree about the treadmill seeming longer.  The only reason I really like it is because when I was doing it at the gym, there was a tv in front of me.

I don't exercise much with all the work I do.  And I do notice my hips are so sore lately.  Gotta get moving.  I guess I will make sure to do a couple of laps around the Ballpark each time I go out there.  That is what I do any way.  Take in all the sites and sounds.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

On days when I forget my headphones it is a challenge to convince myself to continue. I have to play head games with myself such as " you can do it, Just 2 more minutes, til 1/2 done" etc I eventually get there but what a chore!

My hips and knees are sore in the morning when I get up. I think walking helps loosen them up. I used to park as close as possible to where I was going. I now try to park further out in the lot in order to take more steps. Little things like that and taking the stairs when I get the chance all add up. I likr to "walk and gawk" too!

HI Karen and George,

I know what you mean about the treadmill.  I had a treadmill and some kind of cross country ski machine.  Which moved your legs and arms.  Not sure what it is called.  Both I had for years.  I used them to hang clothes on.  So, I finally gave them to the goodwill.   I could not get into walking and going no place.  I found it really boring.

I have had a pain in my back between my shoulder blades all week.  I am kind of worried because my mom died of osteoporsis and that is where hers started.  I found out last week I am not taking enough calcium, I have been doing that since July.  I have since upped my intake.  Hoping I didn't do any real damage.

Hoping to get out and walk today and tomorrow.  I love the nice weather and we have had it here all this week.  I don't trust it yet.  Ohio is known to have one big blast before April is over.  Summer is way too short.

Hope you all get outside walks in this weekend.  It does a body good..:)

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Good morning Karen,
It's walking for me today both at work and when I get home before I go to church.
I enjoy walking and enjoying the beauty around me. The walk at work goes fast walking with 2 of my walking buddies. At home in the country it's peaceful and I see the deer all the time.

Sure hope it's "just" a bruise and not gout. . . Mike gets gout in his ankles whenever he overdoes and he ends up on crutches for several days. Just another of the joys. . .

Well, we woke up to snow this morning. . . and then Erin sold the treadmill on Craig's List. thought  it would be here until at least tomorrow. . . and  then Mike suggested we go for a drive to a little town about 30 miles from here. Even in the rain it was a nice drive. Visited a little antique store and the local hardware/ thrift/ almost anything store. Then we took a different drive home. Arrived home to find Hannah home from daycare with a temp of 102. . . so I didn't get out today. Glad I got 4 miles in yesterday. Somehow I WILL get a walk in tomorrow hopefully when the girls go down for a nap.
