Friday What's New With Yooze?
I had a 3 hour "nap" on the couch. What I call watching tv. . . Once I lay down with blankie and pillow that's it. Wish I did that well when I go to bed! So I'm going to head to bed as I'm sure I'll be subbing tomorrow. Friday you can just about guarantee it! I'll look forward to coming home and reading about your day.
Mike and I are doing well with our "carb counting." Not super strict with it but trying to not eat any of the white stuff. He's down about 13 lbs in less than 2 weeks. Made 1 cup of wild and long grain brown rice. Made enough for about 5 servings of 1/2 cup each for him, just a bite or two for me. The key to it is to make sure it cooks long enough. I froze it and then microwave it to serve. Tonight was fresh local asparagus (yum!), salad, shrimp salad, and a bit of rice.
You all have a nice Friday. We're going to the local fairgrounds on Saturday for a "Cowboy Gathering." Shoud be fun. I've wanted to go for several years. The local country station puts it on. Entertainment, cowboy poetry contest, dance lessons. . . Lots of different music groups in several locations. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can just wander around. Mike is a bit claustophobic and does not enjoy large crowds or tight spaces. Most of this will be outside so we can sit, or wander, or both.
I'm going to try to get some shuteye.

Eddie has a tournament this weekend. May go to Sunday's game depending on the time. Have to be at the Rangers Ballpark at 11 AM or so for Mary to report to work.
Life is wonderful.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Sometimes I like getting up early. I can start my day getting things done. Especially when I will be gone part of the day.
Have to take my sister to the foot docs this morning. I really don't care for this doc. But he did her surgery and she is comfortable with him. I think he is a quack.
Getting ready for my father in -laws hip surgery and my mother in-laws knee replacement. They too will need us. He is having surgery on Monday. We have been going over there quite a bit to help out. My daughter cleans their house every two weeks. It is immaculate anyway.
It is really cold here this morning. I probably won't have time for my walk. Plus, I hate the cold air. You would think I wold be used to it...NOT.
I stepped on the scale and gained three pounds. I have no clue why. I might be eating withour realizing it. Maybe I am sleep walking and making food..lol
Nothing new here really. But I hope everyone has a great day. I love the frienships i have made here.
Peace
I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

I am about to get ready for work, but I am going nuts with the itching this posion ivy, I get relief in small doses and if I could stay in my garden tub soaked in oatmeal that would be best, but I have to go to work. I've spent about 75 so far on stuff to relieve the itch and nothing has worked very well, other than the bath soaking. Benadryl works for about 2 hours, the sprays for about 30 minutes, cortisone cream seems not to work at all. . . the prendisone is drying things up though, I am finally seeing that aspect of things happening, but I would not wish this on my worst enemy. . . oh well, I better get moving here and hope to have a good weekend, planning on clearing an area in my backyard to grow veggies (the area has not posion anything and I will be wearing proper attire, washing it and me right off the bat). . .
Well folks, have a wonderful day! Wishing peace and strength to those of you facing serious challenges. . .
Hugs, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Tomorrow we leave for Newport, RI. I'm looking forward to just having fun for a few days. The building officials conference plans events for the wives to attend while the husbands are in class all day. So hubby has to learn while I play. Thursday we head up to see the grandkids. Can't wait to wrap my arms around my little sweeties.
Had to be into work at 7:00 a.m. this morning. Sleep was terrible last night. My allergies are raging and even with my allergy meds I'm stuffed up. I saw a news report last night that when they do pollen counts they count how many particles are found in one cubic foot. High pollen counts are considered 120 particles per cubic foot. This spring it is ranging up to 5,495 particles per cubic foot in Marietta, GA. ABC news said it's the worst in many years. That must be why my car is covered in yellow dust. It's raining today.
I have lots to do today. Going to have my nails done. I also want to stop by dress barn and get a few tops for the trip. And a stop by the bank to get some money. Need to do all our laundry tonight and pack.
I need a nap.
I'll be MIA for about a week. So hugs and prayers to all of you.

I have to go to the Honda service center today to have them look at the lock on my car door. It's holding on to the key again. Don't want the key to break off in the lock. They said they fixed this back in February and charged me $56, now it's giving me problems again.
It's a busy day for me; after Honda, I have to go the credit union, get money out (and cash my first check from working on the book ... not much, but every little bit helps), then pick up some prescriptions before I go on vacation for two weeks. I have laundry to do and packing ... well, you kow what it's like before you leave for a couple of weeks. I have to wrap my presents for my grandnephews, too.
And somewhere in there I have to pack the car.
George, my White Sox aren't doing too well, either. They had a great opener and then haven't hit well the past two games. Pitching has been so-so ... reliever blew the game last night and sent it into extra innings. We left 11 guys on base. No clutch hitting at all. But it sure has been nice watching baseball all night (and sometimes in the afternoon, too).
Well, that's my busy day. I will get some rest in there. Karen, your day sounds much nicer. Have a good day, everyone.
It's Day 3 of detoxing my body of bad sugars and carbs once again...my life for sure.
All is well and I have energy and feeling great.
Exercising and trying not to stress out about a family situation. Being the outlaw I have to step back and not get involved in family dynamics!
I don't have a computer at home...live in the country and I hate dial up, why pay for bad service?
So my plans for this weekend is: Saturday, it's water aerobics. My hubby has a side job doing cheap charlie on his ex in laws farm. That will keep him busy so I will have girlfriend day with BF Deb who has the lapband. We will work out and go out shopping or breakfast, we split breakfast when we go out...save lots of money doing that!
I will later go for a long walk with the dogs, and this time I won't take Sophie, she is way overweight and can't tolerate a 4 mile walk. Jake and Ellie love it though. If the weather is nice and it's suppose to, I will take my bike out for a ride too! Oh yeah...I'll work with my free weights also.
Sunday it will be church and a day of rest but with my walk.
I've been so hit and miss on here lately. I try to keep up on what's going on, but I am behind. The weather has been so nice and I've been working, doing 40 minutes of treadmill workout and heading outside. I'm even behind in my piano lesson practice this week.....just not enough time - lol
Prayers for those in need with lots of happiness and good health wishes to each of you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Debbie
