Learning skills for weight management
From Kristi my eating coach. Yep, learning skills and taking baby steps, especially for the newbies. People further out post op...some have "bounceback or regain"...we all have a tool, we just have to practice mindful eating and always remember we are a success and we will stay that way! Some are more successful that others and some just take a little while longer to get there, our goal is the same...good healthy living! Hugs- Debbie

They are smart, gifted, talented, and know how to work hard for what they want to achieve. They also come to me frustrated and overwhelmed by the process of losing weight. It is one of the very tangible goals that have alluded them. They think this shouldn't be the case -- perhaps there is something wrong with them that they struggle so hard and have been unsuccessful? No way! What ends up happening is that clients solve their weight issues with the same skills that have made them successful in other areas of their lives -- using their creativity, compassion, and perseverance. If you are struggling or frustrated, look to the areas of your life that you feel most successful and use those behaviors to advance your weight progress. Being successful with weight management is no different than being successful anywhere else in your life. Most of us don't feel we should start right out in our working career as a CEO -- you start where ever you find a job and then work really hard to learn the skill you need to advance -- it takes a bunch of conscious decisions. Same with learning the skills you need to manage your weight -- conscious decisions to succeed, putting this goal into practice as a top priority, and lots of extra hours on the nights and weekends. |
Thanksfor the reminders....for me it was learning all I could about the job, by taking extra courses and classes...and my mantra was "focus"...which is what I need to do now on my weight management. Good info thanks for sharing. Marti

Oh yeah...we all need to "focus" and it's a learning process...through out our lives.
Mindful eating helps, makes you think before you put that "something special" in your mouth.
I won't use the phrase "Nothing feels as good as thin" because there are a lot of thin people out in this world that are unhealthy. Thin is not in. Excellent health is.
I'm not thin and I have curves. I did get down below my goal and I missed my curves.
I asked my hubby what he likes (but really that doesn't matter to me, it's my body)...do you like thin or curves?
He replied..."This is a trick question isn't it?" LOL...very smart man I married!
In the end it's all about what makes you happy and how you want to be. Yes, we all have to focus and stay focused.

I thik the desirable look today is one that is ONLY achieved with hard work and time....can't write a check for it....have to earn it...and that is TONED [and of course tanned] My dream is to someday look very very toned.....NOT thin...So I must focus for a long time.....
