I can't be the first one up!  Everyone's just being polite this morning and waiting for someone else, I guess.

Post on.  Be back after coffee.

Good morning Candy and OFF family to come. Happy Tuesday!

Went and bought a BP machine yesterday at WalMart so I can monitor my BP at home. It's still low but coming up and today I'm telling myself I feel better.

Have a great day and Connie hang in there! Hugs Debbie

Up early this morning as had to go over to the hospital for some blood work for my PCP.  Naturally the waiting room was full at 7 a.m.  Now I have to wait for 1/2 hr before I can eat breakfast because of my medicines.

Looks like rain here this morning, in fact there were some drops coming down when I came out of the hospital.   Temps are in the low 50's.  Weekend forecast is for HIGHS  in the low 50's....good grief!

Slowly getting back into my routine....never thought it would take so much time to get over the jet lag.  I haven't figured out how to post pictures on here yet, but I'll keep trying.  Had such a wonderful time and the scenery and history were awesome.

Debbie - good luck on getting your BP back to normal.  Connie thinking of you and hoping the docs can find out what's wrong with your daughter.

Glad you're home Jules -- you've had quite a trip already.

Margo, I think you should change your numbers too...that will discourage those troubling calls.   I can relate.

Well time to fix my oatmeal and then get ready for work.
I am back to working 9 to 12 but five days a week....

Have a great Tuesday,
Pat R.

Good Morning again

It's a rainy cold day here today.  Unfortunately, we skipped right over the end of summer and hit late Fall.  We're making up for the hot dry summer with rain almost every day.  The lawn needs mowing twice a week, but it's too wet, and I'm not interested.  This summer I could go three weeks without mowing, and then just have to hit it to shear off the weeds.  This time of year I've usually lost most of my interest in the gardens, but this year is worse than most.  Just want to snuggle up with a good book and try to stay warm.

I go to the clothing thrift store this morning to volunteer for a few hours.  Afternoon is open,  then on to a free dinner and a financial planning seminar at a great restaurant.  I want them to tell me how to keep New York State and the good old US of A from keeping a majority of my money, both now and after I'm gone.  Doesn't seem fair that I've worked all my life and tried to save to leave something to my kids and it looks like the government is going to get the lion's share.  The price of living where I do, I guess, and having the freedoms that I have.  That's they way to look at it, although it does get to me after a while.

What's everyone else doing today?

Good mornin', ya'll.

I've been watching a segment on GMA about hypnosis to make people think they have been banded. HMMM! Costs $3000.

I FINALLY finished the pink and white baby afghan I was working on. I'll NEVER use that pattern again!! I need a pattern I can work while watching TV, flying, people watching at the airport. Not one I have to concentrate on. My granddaughter picked this one.

We got 5" of rain in the last 48 hours, most of it in the last 24. We are expected to get as much in the next 48 hours. My backyard doesn't drain well. Although it is better since our son crisscrossed it with drains and underground PVC a few years ago. It still looks like a pond out there.

PT this morning. I like the new exercise she gave me last time. I am getting lots more ROM. But she has me afraid to push too hard and damage my muscles and tissue. So I'll just do what I'm told (with maybe a FEW extras). No PT visits at all next week since I'll be in FL. I'll just be working on my own. She does a lot of manipulation that I am unable to do myself.

I hope things have improved for everyone who has been struggling with family, jobs, emotions, weight and any other thing. Obsticles are put in our way for a reason. Sometimes those reasons aren't apparent right away.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Good morning all. Well I got my applesauce done yesterday. Also got a bag of dried apples & some sliced apples for the freezer. The kids love apple muffins. These apples were huge! Took me less than an hour to peel & core. I have a peeler so that does help.

Today I hope to be making more jerky & have some time to dig potatoes. Hopefully they will be delivering our wood too.
We have been waiting for a while, so my DH cancled from one company & called another. Ten cords is a lot to get cut before the snow flies.
Have a great day all. Nan

Good morning Cindy and everyone....

First of all thank you all so much for the prayers and good thoughts for my daughter Jamie. I will continue to update as I hear more. I feel like I should go down to Iowa but she wants me to wait in cause she ends up going to the hospital later. Then she will really need me there.

Of course I can't sleep with worrying about Jamie. I was still up roaming around the house at 4 AM. Had to get up and start work at 8 AM. Days like this I am grateful I work from home. I am still in in a robe!

Wishing you all a good day.  Prayers for so many in need.

Love and hugs to all...connie d

Hi Candy and my OFF family:

It's so nice and cool around here lately ... only 67 degrees this morning. Slept with the window open last night until 8 when the trucks and the school buses started coming down the street and making too much noise (screeching brakes and all). Nice not to have to have the air conditioner on. Yesterday was gorgeous, so pleasant, the air was so light.

I went out and looked at one kitty yesterday; the shelters were closed. The kitty I saw was from a shelter but he was at Petsmart. He was an orange tabby named Morris; 2 years old and neutered but not declawed. I looked at him in the window and fell in love, but then when I was holding him he tried biting me twice. Not so sure about that. And he tried clawing my legs twice. I have kinda of delicate skin that bruises easily (I get these horrible blood spots) so I'm concerned about the claws. Anyway, I'm going to look at the shelters and see what I see there. I need to find a "Jeanine" ... my friend in Grand Rapids who did cat rescues ... all her cats were neutered and declawed. If I were back in GR, I could have my pick of 60 cats.

So after getting back from the shelter and Petsmart, I was feeling kinda lonely and low. I sat and cried by myself for awhile. I come home to an empty apartment with no furry friend, I have no friends here, not even friends at work. I have never had problems making friends anywhere I've worked, but here, I really feel I don't fit in, like they don't want me. Sorry, I didn't mean to whine, but sometimes my feelling overwhelm me and I don't have my shrink to bring them to. My friend Mary Kay called me this morning, so that was helpful. Anyway, I need to get out to the shelters this afternoon (they don't open til 1 p.m.). Need to find a cat soon ... I'm so lonely.
