Thanks, Deb

They've made the whole process very difficult all along....at least for me. I'm not available when they have their phone confrences and now it's become rediculous. My life is way too busy for such nonsense anyway. They can have it!

What is it they say about volunteer organizations? Ten percent of the people do 90% of the work?  Sounds about right. I've been a community volunteer in one capacity or another most of my life and know how you should be treated. OH just can't get it right.

Hugs!

Susan

Hugs right back at you Captain!!! Again, you are loved and appreciated!!!
Let's this be OH's "Ahhhh HA Moment"...maybe they will learn something.
No matter what...you are a leader anyway. No titles needed.
Some people shine and you are one of them.
Just like our Veterans who serve our country...and I love Vets, admire them, honor them...

When we volunteer our time serving others the feeling we get can be immense!
I have always volunteered. The joy I get can't be explained. I "get" in giving to others and so do you. Have a great weekend and isn't it freeing not to have to jump to commands of an organization when you don't have to! You have let go of something and still have your "power"!!
Go Susan and continue to just do what you do!! I say you have won the battle and OH doesn't even realize it yet!

You know, they just don't care. I haven't gotten a response to my e-mail I sent them yesterday, and doubt that I will. I'd venture to say that no one in the organization will read this thread, and that's okay too.

As my mom would say " I have bigger fish to fry". Well, in our case, broil...lol

To not respond to your email says it all.
So enjoy that broiled fish tonight with a smile on your face and know you made the right decision to free yourself! Have a great weekend Susan! Hugs Debbie

Susan...we love you, Margo and Annette and all those leaders that have given their time to help support so many of us.

It is a shame that OH isn't getting the message....you are volunteers...not just there at their beck and call. They sure have cut off their nose in spite of their face!!
Someone better take charge at OH and get this straightened out. It is awful all the hoops they THINK they can make you jump through!!

Glad you are taking a stand!!!

Love ya...hugs....connie d

I think it's a shame that they treat ya'll the way they do.  You are wonderful and have kept me going since my surgery two years ago.  I can't count all the times you have helped me.  I love you and support your decision.  We will still be seeing you on here though, won't we?  Love you.

Thanks, Sybul

No need to thank me for support, this group has kept me going for four years now. It's all about helping one another.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Susan, I so totally agree with you about OH/support group leaders....I have been dissatisfied with OH for some time....I took the phone classes and for a while did the refresher phone classes, but it got to be too time consuming and I really didn't get anything new out of them.  I was getting the OH magazine for my group, then somewhere along the line I missed answering a little query they sent, so they stopped sending us the magazine....WTH!  Then they threatened to drop my status -- to tell you the truth, I could care less.

I can lead a support group w/o OH -- if they want to take away my status, so be it.  I still get the magazine for myself at home but that may stop as well.

I saw that about the phone in sessions being a toll call -- even tho' I have free long distance, I won't be calling in.....I'm done!

Thanks for letting me rant -- I've been holding this in for a while now.

You don't need OH to lead a support group!  I know that they were trying to charge leders/new leaders in 2006 or 2007, I don't think that got far.

I appreciate OH making these boards available, and I know we are essential in their business plan.  We are the audience they measure whn they sell the advertizing space on their pages.

Mostly, it comes out even, but in your case, it benefits them more than you.  Keep on leading, develop your own handouts, we can help with that!
