Reintroducing myself

Hi everyone
I 'joined' this forum sometime early 2010...I know it was after my 1 year surgiversary.  I got away from OH all together last summer when another forum I was in went 'south'...decided I didn't need all the 'drama' going on.

But, I'm closing in on my 2nd surgiversary (I just can't believe That!) and finding I need to reconnect with people who understand what the last 2 years have been like.  I've gained back a few pounds from my lowest recorded weight...and find it hard to 'remember' what I'm suppose to do to start losing again and then keep it maintained.

I have joined in on the 5 day pouch test, only I'm 1 day behind.  I didn't read about it until after I had eaten breakfast and lunch...so today is the beginning and so far so good ^_^

Looking forward to reconnecting and sharing the journey....and asking a whole lot of questions LOL

Hi Nancy "SUNRAY"...  Good to meet you.  I am just coming back to OFF after a time being away also but that was because I am technically challenged and forgot how to get back on this site but with the help of a dear friend, Connie in neighboring Minnesota...I found my way back.
My New Year;s resolution was to be more active on this site.  I had my Gastric By Pass Nov. 19, 2008 and have lost 120 pounds and holding my own.  Best decision ever.  I am having a bit of trouble getting away from my beloved CARBS....(bread, pasta)....But exercise 3X a week with cardio, weights and alot of walking.

Best Wishes and a Happy New Year to you.

Sandy

Nice to meet you Sandy.  My main problem, pre-op AND post-op is the darn evening grazing.  I knew I was in trouble when even the dreaded 'dumping' didn't deter me :-(   I am determined to be back to atleast my lowest weight by my 2nd surgiversary March 16.
Thanks for the warm welcome back!
Nancy

Welcome back Nancy! I just step back if the drama gets a bit much and head to a corner. I come out again when things quiet down. You can hide behind me! Really, this group is great most of the time. We're here for the same reason and the farther out it gets we are reminded of our screwed up heads that got us here in the first place. Did you haver RNY? My pouch still "Works" when I do what I am supposed to do!!!

Thank you Karen for the warm welcome back ^_^  Yes, I had RNY thru Kaiser in Richmond CA...March 16 2009.     This group has always been supportive and so informative...I knew I could get the help I need.  As you so state, it's not my pouch that isn't working...it's my head working overtime! LOL

Hi Connie...let me respond by saying I never had a problem with OFF...it was another forum that just got too far off track.  Easier to leave for awhile than wait it out on line.  Maybe I'm just getting too old to play the mind games that crop up every once in a while :-(   But with that said, I'm happy to be back and have already joined in with Sue's 5 day pouch program ^_^  I've made it thru Day 1...and actually amazed I didn't 'starve' LOL
Thanks again for the warm welcome!
Nancy

Welcome back Nancy.

And most important...don't feel like a failure if you don't complete the 5 day pouch test. It was made by another bariatric patient and she designed it to her/his needs. It's just that a diet.
Yes I do believe in detoxing your body of the sugar Christmas and carbs so only do what you think is best for your body. One thing for sure is that we are all different.

And I'm not knocking anyone who participates in this 5 day pouch test/diet. We all have to do our own thing and for what works for us because in the long run, we know our bodies the best.
I'll shut up now and continue drinking my 32 oz of water on my work desk. Yep, gotta flush my system too! LOL
