Hi Everyone,
I've been missing in action- I went on a scrapbooking weekend in Sonora with 6 women. I had such fun! he weather was even better than I had predicted- it was over 70 degrees throughout. I was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt during the day.
My Grand dog went to the vet for shots today- she weighs 96 pounds! They said she is a teense overweight, about 2-3 lbs. But she is a huge, very healthy female with a wonderful personality!
Things are going well for me. My tests in SF were all good and my back is hanging in there. If I can manage n hour nap midday my back does better. I need a murphy bed at school... then I could rest during lunch and stay all day!
It's late and I need to get to work tomorrow at 8:00, so I'll get to bed now. It's Hump Day- what's going on in your neck of the woods?

Good Morning Julia and OFF!
Lot's of snow yesterday in the NEK of VT yesteday!  I managed to get home after work coming the back way, but did have a few issues with slippery roads.  After work went to IROC for a therapy pool work out with my friend Carol.  Tonight after work I am coming home and vegging I think!  Well, may do a bit of house cleaning and cooking but not much else.
I had to get up early again to let Angus out and am sipping my chai then will get ready for work in a bit. I kind of like getting up a tad early and starting my day with the news and sipping chai here.  I may try to keep this up!  Not much else new with me at all.  I am somewhat saddened that one of my best girlfriends from back in Ohio has been out of touch for quite some time.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Debbie.

Several times in my life I've found changes I've made in my life have created angst in someone else's.  From time to time, I've just had to go back and regroup and see who was actually carrying the friendship.

'Louise' and I talk 5 times a week. She's a major part of my life and the distance is not a problem.  The same with many others.. but right here in "River City" there are 'friends' who just 'don't get it'.  Sorry you and your friend are out of touch... give her some time to get used to your being 'out of sight'. She'll come back around. She's having to readjust, too..

Good morning, ya'll.
Just a quick hidee ho before my DH and I head out to our colonoscopy pre-screening.
Yesterday was a CT scan (took them 3 tries to find a vein for the IV), then to a doctor appt. with my DIL. They are still trying to figure out her massive headaches. Then we came home and made another tie together fleece blanket. Our son keeps taking hers to use for a nap in his recliner. Now he has his own, longer one.
Gotta run. Good vibes headed to everyone who needs them.
Have a fantabulous day!

Good Morning Julia and all,

I am going into work a bit early today so I can take off early Friday. I am going to a care plan conference at the rehab/care center for my parents. It's a major to-do since they NEVER let us in on anything and have agreed that I can attend. It's funny, I am usually the one setting up care plan conferences and this will be the first time I am on the other side of the table. Weird. Tom will come too and my sister will probably be there.

Julia, our sweet Bridget is a tiny bit overweight(may 2-3 lbs) but looks bigger because of her hair. One of my co-workers said she looked like an "ottoman!" She has sooooo much hair, when we give her a bath we can see her girlish figure and she is NOT fat!!! I think she is just right. We don't give her people food and measure out her dog food.

Well, got to get going, have a good day all!
Cheryl

Hi Julia and OFF family...yep Happy Hump day...looking forward to Friday! LOL

the drive into work was much better, no cars in the ditch! But now it's kinda sleeting.
Last night I went to a Tea Party Patriots meeting with hubby, I really do not like politics so I bought a book to read because if it turned into a ***** session I could tune it out and read. Well there was a woman about my age and her hubby is a county sheriff who spoke. Very interesting because she is divorced and lived in the middle east, was married to a Muslim and she had to flee the county with her children. Now I have 2 girlfriends who married Muslims and it was basically the same thing, fleeing the country with the kids. She talked about how these people think and she said stuff that I all ready knew. Thank God for our country and our military and our vets. Then they talked alot about the Constitution and wanting it taught in our schools. Again, I'm not into politics but it was interesting how other people think. All types of people were at this meeting, ministers, teachers, people who own small businesses. Some I turned out and others were well spoken. Meeting went way too long almost 2 1/2 hours. I told my hubby no one should have to sit for a meeting that long and you lose people after an hour anyway, stick to the agenda and people need to stop repeating themselves.

On a brighter note there was a young lady who spoke at the end, she is running for a Youth Council government type position, she was animated and involved in politics at U of M and wants to get more young people involved.

Have a great day everyone, hopefully this sleet will stop and we won't have ice later! Hugs Debbie

Be careful not to generalize a group of people based on a few.  Living in a large metropolitan multicultrual city I know many muslims, buddist, Hindi, as well as Christians.  There are some muslims that live a traditional lifestyle where the men are the only decision makers but not all.  I know no muslim man that treats his wife that way.  I know many Christian men who do.  My buddist friends are the most tolerant people I have ever met..  All people are individuals and if one is marrying outside of ones own culture it is imperative to know the culture and the person well before saying "I do".  There are a lot of American women who have had to flee their husbands with their children.  It happens all too often.  This is a problem that crosses all cultures, and socio-economic statuses.  It is a terrible situation whenever and wherever it happens.

Believe me, I'm not bashing Muslims, I work with many of them here in the hospital and they are all good people.

I'm not bashing any religions, I'm more of a Spiritual person and live my life every day the best I can. I don't judge others.
That's also why I said I wasn't a political person.

And yes, I'm an active volunteer also and reach out to woman who have been abused. This is a scary world indeed.

Good Morning Julie & OFF:

Today is the last day of my staycation.  I still have a lot of packing left to get to.  Did not realize we have soooo much stuff around this house.  I have decided we are going to be more mindful of this once the house is completed.

I do have coding class tonight so I'll leave my house around 2:30 to get there on time.  With all the construction on I95 there are always delays going south from up this way that time of day.

I do have to get to the post office to ship back a winter coat I found online - called them, was assured it was very heavy, coat arrived it is a piece of crap.  I can't belive a company would actually sell something that low quality - but this is the American way now.....nothing of good quality that lasts sold in American anymore.  So sad....

Hope everyone has a great day....

Ida
