I am up early and surprised that I got here first.

I am having oral surgery and my doctor decided yesterday that he needs to see me before he will sign off on the surgery.  His nurse has had the forms for a week but guess she didn't give them to him until yesterday.  Sooooooo it is a trip into Methodist Hospital downtown for me.  After that I will go to the gym, meet a friend at Starbucks then see a movie with my hubby.  That my plans for the day.    What's yours?

Oh almost forgot.  Did I mention on here that my son Matthew and his wife, Keely are expecting.  Should be sometime in July.  I keep chanting GIRL GIRL GIRL GIRL ! ! ! !

Congrats grand-ma on the expectant baby girl. Think pink.  Is this the first.
Well it is one month from today that I have my surgery.  I am preparing picking up things I will need.  jello soups drinks etc....  I take vitamins and supplements so I have to stop taking them 1 week before. I did find a place to stay behind the hospital. It is for patients and their caregiver and you can get your meals.  That will be good for DH. It is run by the nuns and I am waiting on a reply from them.  Rates are reasonable and it is connected to the hospital. In case anyone is interested.Oh yeah it is in Montreal. My surgery will be done at his Clinic and if needed they will transfer me by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital.  not far away. They have people coming from USA and other places.  I hear thie rates are cheaper for surgery. In case anyone is interested.

Good morning Linday and OFF family to post later. Happy Friday...best day of my work week, now I can't wait until 4:30 comes. I live for my weekends off for sure.

Nothing new on the home front. Winter just keeps on coming. I need sunshine! LOL
Maybe I'll go to the movies on Saturday with my BFF since hubby will be in Grand Rapids at some political convention. I love my girlfriend Saturdays. Hugs Debbie

P.S. Linday I'll chant girl, girl girl with you!

Good Morning Linda and Friends, Man oh man is this get up and go to work 5 days in a row kicking my butt! However, I am sleeping better if I can make it bed before I pass out. I keep reminding my self that it isn't forever and that it will help pay most of my plastic surgery bill towards the end of May! I enjoy it and it is so rewarding but I get impatient at times. The 13 students I work with all have special needs. All are low achievers, low ability which I am very patient with. I have trouble with the , rude behavior, sometimes temper tantrums that these kids often show. That is a part of their makeup too, but we are working hard to hold them accountable. I sometimes would like to throw a tantrum too!  Yesterday I took 3 non readers on our transit system for a "transit training." It's interesting trying to find markers for non readers to identify routes! We practiced directions over and over and over and over. Then I would ask David: "Which way is north?" I had told him many times towards the river as that is a great marker in our city.   Time after time I would get a blank look and a guess. .  usually wrong! We'll keep working on it.

Must hit the shower. Definitely am looking forward to my weekend. Mike is headed over to see the grands. I'm staying behind because of work. WAAAAAAH! He'll be helping with some remodeling chores and probably will stay until Monday or Tuesday.

You all have a great weekend and stay warm wherever you are. It's not too cold her, just foggy and damp. Hoping for sunshine this weekend!

Those students are sooo lucky to have you as their teacher and friend.
Our son Angus, age 27 now, had such learning problems, (Agent Orange I swear since all 3 kids had some learning difficulties). I took pictures of his room cleaned up so he could "see" what it should look like cleaned. We had lots of little clues for him at home and at school. Now he is such a fine, strong, self assured man. Love the fact that "teachers" come in many walks in life, not just in the classroom.
Hugs and foot massages. Monica

Karen , Dear hard working Sistha,

Wow, Having met you, I can see how well you work with people. The 13 in your care are receiving

your special care each day, bless you Teacher Karen. Do you student's work well with hands on training?

As in: the feel of water might make them aware that the water in the river feel's like north , in your city.

Just a thought. Later my Hero Teacher, Karen.  Peg

Good morning Miss Linda and my OFFer friends

Yes, you did tell us about the baby, but that's okay, I'd be telling everyone, everyday if we were going to be grandparents....;lol

Yesterday was busy, too busy as a matter of fact. I went to the doctor's and the nurse took out the last drain and drained some fluid off of my arm. Both were uneventful, but the area on my arm is still swollen. Guess it's just going to take time.
Went with Gary to an appointment with a opthalmic (sp) surgeon. Gee.....2 1/2 hours later we left. I completely skipped lunch, didn't take extra water, so by the time we got out of there I was about done in. We went to have an early dinner, came home and I crashed.

My time off is coming to an end, and I kind of wish I had a little more time off. Not that I don't think I am able to go back to work, but to have time to get some more things done before I do.

Off to get some breakfast and get ready for the day. Hope all of you have a wonderful day and weekend!

Susan

Hi Linda and my OFF family:

Rough night at work last night, which meant after that I had a frustrating night sleeping because I just can't let go. I hate doing Monroe sports, which is what I had to do, and now that we are short all the time, what with layoffs and furloughs, copy gets to me so much slower than usual (and the person moving copy moves so sloooooowly). So I was late because first, she didn't get me my main story in time, then she didn't realize I had three other stories she had to read. Then, when I had the whole section done without one of the stories which she said we didn't have, she said, oh, it just came in. So I had to rip up what I did and squeeze it in. Aarrrrgh!

I'm off today fortunately ...otherwise I might kill someone. I'm off to the chiro soon and then I'm going to veg.Well, I have laundry and putting away Christmas stuff ... hopefully.

Off to the shower ... have a good day.

Thelma says "HI !!!!"  It's warm, and she misses Louise, and wants piiiiee!
(text message, I didn't talk to her.  She'd BETTER be having a good time without me......)

I went to the doctor Wednesday, and he said  nurses go one of two ways, either they behave and follow directions to a "T", or they ignore everythng they're told and do what they want.

Apparently I'm the former.  Everything is healing well, and I can bear weight as long as I keep the orthopedic boot on except at night.  The boot stays for at Ieast three weeks.  I go back next week to have the stitches out.  Still can't get the foot wet and still can't change the dressing.  Sponge baths are getting old, but I have all the time in the world for leisurely ones.  I'll live.
Minimal pain and swelling, although my toes are a very fetching greenish-yellow color.

Monica, so glad to see your number of days increasing.  Must be the traveling bra, giving you support.  (sorry, couldn't resist....)

Everyone have a good day.  Gonna go take a nap.  Can't do much else....

Candy
