New dreams...goals
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." Henry David Thoreau
Came across this quote in a newsletter I receive monthly. Struck me what a positive attitude to have ;-) Thinking back to the beginning of my WLS journey..my anticipation, my goals, my dreams...now almost 2 years post op...most of my goals and dreams have come true...time to think of new ones!
1. Introducing my youngest granddaughter to FairyTale Town..and going down the slide with her on my lap (she's 15mos).
2. Walking the Bay to Breakers 6k marathon in May.
Have you made new goals..dreams? Please share ^_^

Nancy,
What a great idea. I think I've been resting on my laurels, whatever that means. Gotta run out the door pretty soon, but I'd like to think about this one & get back to you!
Gosh, you're also from Sunny California! I must have been out of touch for awhile, cuz I don't remember when you began posting. Glad to have another Californian on OFF. Do you ever come down to SoCal?

Hi Jan....I sorta remember you from the Cali Forum...when it was a rocking posting place-to-be site. Sure has died down in the last year :-( Due to the lack of activity there, I started posting here and on the Graduates Forum...such friendly and helpful people!
Don't make it down south very often; however, just happens to be that in June, I'll be at Disneyland Hotel with my company. We're holding our annual convention there...will be there for almost a week. Was thinking I might let the Southern group know I'll be there...see if we can do a meet and greet one of the days..that would be sooo neat!
Look forward to hearing your new goals...dreams...this IS a life-time journey after all ^_^

That is great. I have to tell you a true story about Fairy Tale Town and Disneyland.
I am a So. Cal girl. Grew up in Santa Monica. When I would go to Disneyland I was always looking for this part of it I remembered as a really young girl. But knowing that Disneyland is always changing; figured it was something that was taken out years ago. Fast forward to 1980. I am attending graduate school in Sacramento, and a friend has a 5 year old daughter. I volunteer to help at her birthday party which is at Fairy Tale Town. I get there, and I am transfixed !! It wasn't at Disneyland at all --but my little girl brain had it there !! I had visited Sacramento with my folks when I was probably 6 years old, and must have incorporated the memory into Disneyland !!! There I was, just completely over joyed to have found my playground that I thought was gone forever !!!
Let me know when you are coming down to So Cal, and I will make the trip to Anaheim.

That story is just Priceless! You'll be happy to know FTT hasn't changed all that much ;-) It was almost shut down about 10 years ago for lack of funds, but it was saved and is just as popular a children's park as it ever was.
Hopefully, we'll be able to make some time for meeting...I've met a few already..and it was so much fun!
