Good Morning OFFdom!
haven't posted in a while, and up a tad early today so thought I would hop on.
Trip to NW Ohio and back was intersting as I recall I said. Work this week has been involved with our pharmacy implimentation and build, worked on that most of the week.
Have a TON of stuff to go thru and re pack for next move or may try to get more of it GONE!
Big storm forcasted for today hasn't started yet, I would just as soon not get it.  the taste of spring in Ohio last week was pretty dog gone nice!
went to the nurse practitioner at the ortho office yesterday to see about my knees.  they hurt going up and down stairs and some when walking.  she could tell why she said after reviewing x rays.  seems I have patellar/femoral arthritis and am pretty much bone on bone there.  the other parts of the knees don't look bad, just the patella portion.  Going to try the shots with the synthetic cushioning stuff in it.  Next week she evaluates my shoulder, so we'll see what happens there!
That's it from me, what's new with you?

Good mornin' ya'll.
Yesterday was slow and relaxing day. Rainy and shmutzy outside, so we just stayed in. Our son came for his salad for lunch and a nap. Our grandson also came for lunch between classes. I can get up to 30 min on my new treadmill. I do it twice a day. My hip is getting stronger. I also did some crochet. I like slow moving days like that.
Today is gonna be another slow day. But I think the rain has stopped. I really need to get some pretty flowers in my beds out front. Maybe I'll take a quick trip to Lowes today. Sears will be here this morning to check out our washer. Our fabric softener cup fills up with water at the end of the cycle.
I am determined to get my candy eating under control. NONE today!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

I am thinking of making a shawl. I am a knitter and crocheter.  Would love to make a soft large shawl for ME. Got this idea that ribbon would make a dramatic presentation. What material venue would you advise? I trust your advice and direction.

Monica,

Over the years I have incorporated different yarns, colors and included various textures to change simple crochet patterns.

A shawl made of ribbon sounds wonderful. Personally, I would stick to a simple pattern. Tying in the ribbon ends will be time consuming. You may even make the tied ends as part of the overall pattern.

Great idea. Light Bulb 2

Monica, ribbon sounds fun and pretty. I agree with the logistics of weaving in the ends, but, yes you could leave them as fringe.
I have seen items made with 2 colors of yarn worked at the same time. I wonder if you can work ribbon and yarn together. Perhaps just do the 2 in some kind of pattern and/or edge, then do the rest with just yarn. I've never tried 2 yarns at once with crochet, but my Gram used to do 2 yarns at once when knitting.
You have peeked my curiosity! I may have to experiment with this idea! I love trying new stuff. You MUST share whatever you decide on!

Good Morning Off
Been MIA a few days   we took the motorhome up north to spend a few days with stepdad,   He lives with my brother now and is much happier than living alone but he still misses mom and he does love us too so it was nice spending time with him,  parking at my brothers don't cost much either!   Ted was out to most meals with us and we got to spend some time with grand nieces and nephews also,   I have a 13 yo old that is being home schooled  so I started a home economics class with her!  what fun.  we made a menu  she made her grocery list  checked what mom had already  then we went shopping and did the cooking!  what fun!
Hubby is going back to work next week~!  to get into the area he wanted he had to take 3rd shift  but that's OK  he will be happy working in that product line and I don't mind being alone at night.
I got caught up with the rest of you last night.  reading about your struggles with regain,  I too am dealing with a regain that I know is partly emotional eating over losing mom and not dealing with the loss very well. I know the frustration,   My problem is sugar  so I quit with the sugar pop a few weeks ago thinking id lose the first 10# quickly but that didn't happen!  aaaagggg   frustration! So yesterday I quit eating.  I am going to do liquids,  protein shakes and such for 4 days then start again.  It truly is a lifetime struggle isn't it?
Prayers from our house to yours for all who need or want them,   Have a great day everyone!

Hi Debbie and OFF family, TGIF!!! and it's payday Friday for me.

The sun is shining in my window but it's cold outside, rode in to work with hubby today.
A baby was just born here and they play Brahms Lullaby everytime a new baby is born...and it makes you go "ahhhhhh" every time!

I didn't make it to the gym last night, my back has been painful and I just wanted to go home but first I stopped at Meijers to pick me up some fresh veggies and fruits and some deli meat. Ended up buying a chicken roasted so I wouldn't have to cook when I got home.

Going to Bariatric support group tomorrow afternoon. Then I'm babysitting Holly in the evening. She is such a cuddle bug and you know I'm crazy about babies!
Singing at church Sunday with our Praise Team then I'm also scheduled to do special music. I need to put out a plea for others to join our Easter choir...a short term commitment, maybe I can send out some encouragement for those that are shy to join.

I think when I get home tonight I'll jump in our hot tub and relax. Everyone have a great weekend. Our weight loss challenge at work is going great, total loss so far on week 4 is 1,806.6 pounds. I have lost 4 pounds so far. Slow but steady wins the race. My team is in 30th place (out of 40 teams)...2 people didn't weigh this week cuz they knew they were up. I say just bite the bullet and weigh but it's their choice, you can only miss 2 weigh in's. The challenge ends April 29th. I know we won't win but I've been having fun with my team. Hugs Debbie

Morning Debbie, Those that have posted already and those to come. . .

This change in season seems stuck on winter, driving in this morning, when I crossed into Delaware from PA, it was snowing big, wet snowflakes, I was like, what the heck?  I'm south and it's snowing?  sheesh, but they promise that this will be outta here by afternoon and that is fine with me, been grey and gloomy for too many days lately.

Hope your shots fix the knees, I've heard some good things about that and for me, personally, I'd rather keep my own parts than have artificial ones, at least for the moment, though other than this nasty heel spur, I am not having too much issue at the moment with my knees or my hip, though I am achy everywhere this morning, thinking it has to do with the weather.

So today has me at work, it will be a long day, as I am scheduled to be here until 6 today, I really hope that the person they hire will be someone who can work 10 to 6 or at least someone willing to work out front a couple of days a week from 4 to 6, as my regular scheduled hours are 8 to 4, with me working the 4 to 6 shift several days a week.  After work, right now I'm thinking homeward bound and couch potato with Miss Roxie, my sweet faced girl, she is just such a lovebug, amazing how misjudged Rottweilers are. . .

Ok, enough from me, have a great day and wishing peace and strength to those with life struggles.

Hugs, Laureen
