Good Morning Judi and Friends,

The sun came out yesterday here on the Pacific Coast. Mike and I were on the beach by 8am for  low tide. Gravel beds were exposed where I found about 60 agates and many pretty shell pieces to use with my bookmarks that I make from homemade paper, ribbon, and beads. Many of the agates are tiny but I place them with my other beach treasures in a shallow bowl on my coffee table. I sit a candle in the middle and it makes a lovely reminder of my many days of beachcombing.

It's rare to find a fishing float these days but the city "plants" hundreds of blown glass floats in hard to find spots along the beach for miles for people to find. No luck for me but I spent most of my time playing in the sand and gravel beds searching for pretty stones. After about 3 hours I headed in (Mike had headed back up with Maggie about an hour before). I took a nice long hot shower and felt so relaxed.

Nothing liike the roar of the surf, the sea air, mother nature in all her glory. You know come to think of it, everywhere I go I find beauty and it renews my soul. Amish country last fall in PA, the stunning red rocks of Sedona, AZ, the coastline of southern CA in January. My own backyard nourishes my soul as I plant and weed my flower beds.

It's just  3am, the surf is pounding. It's not raining but quite windy. We'll pack up and leave by about 9am, heading up highway 101 taking the long way back to our daughter's. We'll pass through Astoria, OR and visit Lewis and Clark Voyage of Discovery sites along the way arriving at Erin's in time to get H, C and B hugs at 5pm. Have a great day everyone.

You sure have a way with words, painting pictures and sounds for us to enjoy. Hubby got a large 16" oblong amyathest geo 4 yrs ago at an RV campground tag sale and he fills it with stones, shark teeth, and found tresures. It sits on our coffee table. Gkids sure love to go through it and so do we. Memories abound. Hubby has always loved rocks, wanted to be a geologist and went to college for this before he enlisted. There are many rocks all around the RV. The Gkids love to rock hunt on walks and often when their friends are with us too, handfuls of "special oh look at this one Gfather" come back to RV.

If I go on vacations on the beach I look for shells and coral that has washed up and I keep them all in a glass bowl.  I also look for rocks everywhere I go.  I have a gorgeous green ones from Oregon.  some interesting ones from Turkey and other places.  These I have in a wooden bowl I got from one of the islands.  I like that sort of thing better than things you find in decorating stores.  Memories plus natural beauty.

What fun, I know what you mean. We can look at a rock and remember where it came from and what we were doing and we didn't buy it but found it, treasure hunted.

Thanks for making me smile, as I pictured you on the beach, being a beach (nature) loving gal myself, I am looking forward to spending some time there (Atlantic Ocean) in the near future. . .

Hugs, L

I love visiting the Lewis & Clark sites ... haven't been to the ones in Oregon, of course. Would love to one day.

Morning all. Sober 154 days and so proud of me.
Congrat on new computer. What did you get? Laptop? Let me know I am looking since mine is 5 yrs old and slow slow slow.
We played Texas Holdem last night. Hubby was hot hot hot. I did well too. Such a great group of people, many leave this weekend so it was a little sad to say goodbye.
There were over 304,000 lightening strikes yesterday during that huge line of storms from the gulf to New England. Storm here was heavy rain and strong wind but no hail or wind shir. Took almost all day for clouds to clear and it got cool last night. TV reports that it could be the Best Spring Day here. No humidity, clean clear air and mid 70's.
Not much planned. Hubby wants to vacuum and spot clean the rug. Crazy man. The hard water here had done a ## on my Polish/Sicilian curly, but I found a new product...an Olive Oil rub at Walmart. Rub it on, leave it in, and the hair gets moisture. So cheap yet so effective.
Wishing the Red Sox's would win one. Yet happy for George and his Rangers after kicking em X3.
Happy Humper, hugs to all, Monica
