Hi my OFF Friends,
Starting the thread is a new experience for me.  Monica how many days is it?  How is everyone's parents, pets, family doing?  How are you doing on your journey on weight loss?  How will you spend this weekend?

I'm up because of steroids with chemo and the sleeping pill isn't helping.

I will be tackling the mountain of clutter on my desk and in the office.  I liked the experience of hiring a young person to do jobs in the yard.  Now I'm moving into the house.  I am going to switch the purpose of two rooms and as a result some painting needs to be done.  Some wallpaper needs to come off and large pieces of furniture need to be moved.  The office is a bigger room so it's going back to being a guest bedroom.  The office is going into the smaller room and the furniture is being downsized.  So for this I'm going to hire two older boy scouts.  So they have to strength to lift things up.

Doing well with holding my weight where it is.  I have a ten lb. range I stay within.  If chemo makes me sick I lose 10 lbs.  If I feel better, I regain 10 lbs.  I have to drink lots more water with chemo because they dont want it to sit my stomach, bladder and other organs.  I need to flu**** out as soon as possible.

I did post two days ago because so many were asking how I was doing so you can go back and read that post.

Think of you all so often.  Lurk here some days.  It's hard to post on the weeks I have to go the cancer center four days a week.  But I am feeling well.  Tired but trying to get things done and spend as much time with my family.
Love and hugs to all of you.
Bev

Good Morning Bev,
So glad you posted first.  I am up, getting ready to walk Utley, my Shiba Inu.  He attracts attention because he looks like a fox.  He has the face and coloring of a fox, but the body of an Aikida, especially the corkscrew tail.

Today is my sis-in-law's bridal shower.  She was married to my brother for 30 years, till the Lord took him home three years ago.  She met a guy she knew from childhood last summer, and they are getting married in July.  We are expecting about 55 people, most from our church.  It should be fun.

Tonight, I will probably play Scrabble with Mom.  She loves the game, and I have managed to avoid playing most of the week, because of not feeling well.  I don't mind playing, it's the negative stuff that Mom does that I can't stand.  She is toxic at times, and I can't deal with it most of the time.

Anywho, I hope everyone has a good day.

Hugs,
Trish

Trish,
I play Scrabble with a friend on FB. We love it. But we don't actually play at the same time. We have several games going and just check to see if the other has made any moves.
Weddings are always nice.  But this will be a little wistful with the reminder that your brother is gone.
I've really been thinking about getting a dog to keep me company.  I have to get one with hair that grows and doesn't shed for my allergies.  I'm thinking of looking for a rescue dog.
Hugs,
Bev

Good morning Bev & Trish and everyone who post later on.  It's a sunny but chilly Saturday morning here in the Outer Banks!!!!  My hubby & I ran our wee early morning route and I had to grab a hoodie.  I think it's suppose to reach the 80's here today.  Enjoy it while we can.

Speaking of today, it's Dare Day here in our town.  Have no idea really what it means.   You'd think that by living here for almost 6 yrs. I'd know by now but I don't think about it until they advertise it.  Anyway, we're all going later on.  It's a fun family activity day on the waterfront.  We've got the cooler packed and iced down, healthy snacks packed, the sunscreen, camera, that's all I can think of right now, but we're looking forward to it.  A dear friend of mine, who's had WLS as well, sings in a band and her group is playing today.  Can't wait!!

I hope all is well with everyone.  Like someone else posted, I may not always post but I lurk and read.  I do think about you all often, the different challenges we face, triumphs we win, etc. etc.  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of a good support group.

Cindy,
If my history classes remain in my memory, Dare Day is pertaining to Virginia Dare, the first America born English child. The colony was founded on what is Roanoke Island. This is what is referred to as The Lost Colony. Too bad the outdoor play is no longer active. It was wonderful and I would love to see it again. The Elizabethan Gardens are all a part of that colony.

Enjoy the day! Trish can fill you in on a lot of it.

Good morning Bev.  Keep up the good fight.  I too have not been on here in a while.  Been fighting a really bad bout of depression.  My PCP changed my Zoloft because my liver enzymes were way too high and my alkaline phosphatase was too.  I'm taking Celexa.  She upped the dose yesterday so hopefully I'll start feeling better soon.  I'm a new grandma as of 5/31 of a 9.43lb, 21.5 in baby boy.  It's my sons first child.  They have him at the Children's Hospital since yesterday back under the bili light.  Say he may have to stay a few days.  Doug says he is so big he can already turn from his back to his side.  Went to TX to visit my sisters for a few weeks.  Really did me some good to get away and think.  My husband and I have been having some serious problems lately related to money and his not being forthcoming with me.  He had been keeping a lot of secrets and messing up our finances even worse supposedly trying to help.  To make matters worse he lied to my face about it.  My sisters say to kick him to the curb.  After 35 years of love and marriage I think he deserves a chance to vindicate himself.  I am pretty broken up about it though.  I have always trusted him completely and now I feel lost.  We'll see.  We are behind in our house payments again.  I'd hate to think that at 61 and 58 we would be out on the street.  Our 18 y/o graduated from high school thank God.  We wondered many times if he could make it.  We are looking into some technical schools for him this fall.  He goes for some aptitude testing next week.  Evidently there are programs out there that will pay for his education since he was special ed.
That will sure be a big help.
Got a garden in late but at least it's doing OK.  Val brought the backhoe home this weekend to do some cleaning up around here and to move some dirt around.  I hope everyone is OK.  Missed you all.

Sybul,
My hubby and I are the same way.  Married 39 years.  Although the bill paying thing hasn't happened in a long time.  Twice I came home to no power and him having already made hotel reservations for the night.  It wasn't because we didn't have the money, he just didn't take the time to send them a check.  But like you said all that love makes you able to deal with it.  It's still nerve-wracking though.
It's good you could get away.
I'm glad your sons future looks bright.  Gardening helps me relieve tension too.
Hugs,
Bev

Morning OFFers
Sober 214 days and so proud of me. So good to see you post Bev. Prayers for you daily. Has the bathroom remodel been completed? You sound busy, I know that rearranging is a job that can be rough. We have been doing this and I noticed that I "forgot" where I put a few item when I wanted them. Got silly stupid frustrated at forgetting.
Yesterday was so gorgeous here, sun up now and cresting over tree line. Yes it gets hot, but really sweet in early evening with lovely breezes. We have had 3 super busy days in a row we are pooped and a little more than sore. We got new water hoses and filters for RV. Hubby installed and working well. We both took turns defrosting & cleaning frig and freezer. We have a nice large frig in RV w/ 4 doors. The job is usually just time consuming and messy, but we did it in stages and it went really well. Also cleaned my oven. Next job today is changing inside water filter. Tiny clamps need nimble fingers, ha ha. Discovering more and more stores that offer military discounts. Happy with Lowe's and Home Depot.
We have many mockingbirds here. On my morning Yoda walk, a gentle one this time, I played with one mockingbird, making varioius sounds, but then the bird got too creative and I couldn't keep up with him, like dueling banjo's.
I've discovered some fun games on FB. Trying more Farmville, but still scary. Enjoy the slot games, like not losing real $$$.
Hope all have a good weekend. Trish have fun at bridal shower.
Be well, Monica

Yay for 214 days.  The bathroom model is finished and absolutely all I wanted.  I am so happy.  Thanks so much for all those prayers.  I like the game you played with the mockingbird.  I have a bunny that has no problem with me walking around the corner of the house and not realizing he is only 8 feet away from me.  He freezes thinking he is invisible.  So I stand there and say hello and tell him it's not working.  He still stays frozen there as long as I stand there.  Then I talk to him some more until I need to get on to what I was going to do in the first place.
I play Scrabble with a friend on FB.  We love it.  But we don't actually play at the same time.  We have several games going and just check to see if the other has made any moves.
Hugs,
Bev
