Lilee,

You are in what we call in our WLS lingo a "stall".  This is very common at the stage you are in right now and all you need to do is make sure you are doing all that you need, DO NOT cut back on anything, if anything at all, change things around, your body has adjusted by now to your changing habits and may need a little challenge, step up your exercise if possible, or your routine of what you are eating, protein, whatever else and getting in your fluids are key to success.

It will be a while before you are only losing a couple of pounds a month, but you will experience these stalls from time to time.

Have you been taking your measurements?  If not start doing that once a month as often your body is changing even while the scale is not moving.  Have you taken pictures once a month, as that also shows a difference, though my greatest change showed up at about 5 months post-op, we are all different, but if you do your part, you will lose weight.  Do not give all your power over to the scale at this point. . .

Best wishes, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Lilee, Laureen said it so well. This is definitely the time to practice patience. That is certainly not one of my finer qualities and one I hav to work at constantly. Keep doing what you are supposed to do, maybe focus on something else like cleaning out a closet, calling a friend you haven't talked to in a while, making a list of those little and big "wow" moments of changes that you have noticed sine this journey began. Best wishes,

Karen C

My weight loss slowed down after 6 months, but I did continue to lose a pound a week or so for the next 6 months.

After that, my weight has been pretty stable (plus or minus 5 lbs.) for about a year.

I am increasingly convinced that this whole business is designed to teach us patience!

I have the sleeve and exercise at least 45 minutes 5 times a week I am going on my 11th week but I havent lost any weight for 3 weeks. I know eventually it has to come off and show on the scale as far as the inches Ill be needing a smaller pair of undies so I am still smiling.

I had my RNY about a week after you and I have had SEVERAL stalls.  For example, the end of May I didn't lose any weight for 3 weeks no matter what I did!  I tried eating more, eating less, more exercise, even went back to a liquid diet for a couple of days.  Well, in the last week, I have lost 5 pounds...which isn't a lot for a month, but compared to NO loss is pretty impressive for a week. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

I am NOT at my goal and I'm disappointed that it's slowing down, but I think that's normal.  Looking back, I have gone from a 22/24 to a 16 and will probably be in a 14 in another month.

BTW, haven't you found you continue to lose inches even when you're not losing weight?  During that period when I lost no weight I went down another size in clothes....go figure!
