It's Tuesday, what's new?

Hi y'all:

It's after midnight, I'm watching the recording of the White Sox-Tigers game (my Sox won, sorry Tigers fans). Juliette is peacefully lying by my legs on my recliner. I think she had a bad night while I was gone; we had another whopper of a storm last night ... lots of wind, rain, thunder, lightning, etc. We need the rain, but not all the dramatics. Poor girl doesn't like storms.

My phone interview went well yesterday; who knows, maybe I'll end up in Florida. I've got to do something to shake things up ... this job is going to end soon, so I have to make plans in case they don't have a spot for me. So I keep applying,

One more night of work, then three days off. Can't wait. I need a break.

It's criminal that the airlines are charging servicemen and women to check their bags ... there was a story done about this awhile back. You wouldn't think it would happen.

Well, what's new with you today? Chat away ... I'll check back later.

good morning

thanks for starting the thread.  i hope you find what you want eileen, its so not easy
in this economy.

not much new here, feeling kinda blue of late.  im battling some regain, but the most
upsetting thing is that my ankle has been acting up for about ten days now.  i have
an appointment at the doc next week.  i just hope he does not want to do surgery.
that thought has been keeping my spirits low.  ive started wearing my brace that
he made for me last year, ugh i hate it.

other than that, all is well here, a little rain would be nice, send it this way please.

hugs to all,

Jacki

Good morning Eileen and OFF family to post later.

Yeah...I agree it sucks charging extra for luggage for our Military, it sure is one way to grab more money. Greedy people anyway.

So yesterday I made it on 2 walks, did only 3 miles all together but I pushed myself. I'll do the same today along with a work out in the pool at home. I didn't get in the pool yesterday, was just too tired. I did stop on the way home and got a mani and pedi. Got cute flower decorations on my big toenails, gotta show them off today! LOL

Hugs and prayers for all in need, especially Nan and her family. Lots of stress in today's world. May we all take 3 deep breaths, relax your body and just give thanks that we are upright and kicking! I'm still stressing about something, can't say anything yet but will later. I will find my light at the end of the day/week/month!! Hugs Debbie

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I had a great 2 year check in with my surgeon. Actually it was the first meeting with this doc - he took over for my original surgeon, *****located to another state. Anyway, he was great - took lots of time and basically said that I was doing great. Best thing he told me was that a "goal" of the midpoint of my BMI (which would be ~130) is kind of ridiculous. He is happy with my loss and maintenance as it stands, my labs look good, and I am feeling great. 'Nuf said!

From there I drove in to the office for a couple of meetings, then home in the rain.

But after that? Mike was working late so I had sort of a "grazy" dinner of leftovers in the frig....ending with SFIC. Yes, it's my weakness. But WOW. I went into a (mild) dumping episode that laid me up for the rest of the night. Sweaty, abdominal pain, flushed, almost queasy....yeah. I swore off the evil sugar alcohols last night, believe me!

This was only my 2nd dumping experience, and was not as bad as the first (which laid me out on the bathroom floor). But it just goes to show ya, doesn't it? I don't "really" consider myself a dumper but it can happen for sure!

Today's lineup?

Gym - getting back to my water classes and jazzercise
Work
Work on my writing - really setting a goal to have a couple of hours a day for this
Find something to make for dinner
Quiet night - hopefully at least a short walk with Mike, then probably some TV time

Wishing all of you the energy and patience to get through the day!!

Good Morning Eileen and OFF Family,
You have my prayers about your job situation.

I am sugar free four days and loving it.  Yesterday was the first day I was tempted to chuck it for my cookie of choice, but I prayed.  Sleep deprivation from my nightmare in the ER on Sunday, combined with crying jags, combined with anger about the ER situation I experienced just got me craving sugar.  I am glad I did not give in.  When I went to my family doctor in the morning, I had last 11 pounds since my last visit ten days ago.  I think a lot of that was water weight loss from all the heat we had there for that time period, but still, I am grateful for the release of the obsession for sugar today.

Today has me heading to my AA meeting, then taking a friend to my church to visit the food pantry we have there.  She is pretty tight financially, and I promised to take her there.  After that, I have some tidying to do around here, and an errand to run for my sis-in-law.  I want to lay in some groceries for them since they have been on the road for two days after their honeymoon, but that just ain't gonna happen, since I can't get my hands on their house key.  I did get some Greek yogurt that was on sale last week for them.  I only eat plain, but I got them some fruit flavored.  So, I will drop them off.

I better get moving, coz my meeting starts in 30 minutes and I am not dressed.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning all. Sober 267 days and so proud of me.
Adding back the baggage issue to my daily RANTS to White House and Congress members. Can't believe this issue hasn't been resolved...not really, life in Washington DC moves at a snail pace for most things. Disgusted with our president and congress members over the debt crisis. An elected person should not spend all his time running for another term in office, he doesn't deserve the first term as far as I am concerned. I know the phone lines will be busy busy today...some days I have to wait a long time to speak with a person, but I hold on since I want my point of view written down and passed on. I realize my call may not be important, but since this is all I can do outside the voting booth, I do IT!
Hoping all stay cool and have good things happening in their lives. Good luck Eileen.

RNY on 02/22/11 with
Good morning Eileen and all you early birds!

I think it's an outrage that those greedy airlines charged Nan's son $200 for baggage, especially since he was having to make an emergency trip home.  My husband flies from the Middle East all the time, and he says the level of service has drastically dropped.  Unless you're in 1st class.  Things are still much the same there.

So I don't know how many of you sew, but if you do you might appreciate my tale this morning.  Long time ago, patterns were sold in individual sizes.  Then they started printing them with several sizes on a single pattern. Unless you were the largest size printed, you had to cut away the extra size markings.  Well, I would never do that!  I was always afraid to cut the pattern down to a smaller size, because what if I wanted to make it again and I grew?

But yesterday I cut that pattern down to a size 18.  I am NOT going to grow again!  So I cut away the extra for a size 20.  Go me!

However I am having a little difficulty understanding exactly how the designer intended for the wearer to get INTO this jumpsuit!  The jumpsuit has an elasticized waist and a deep V-neck.  I think you're supposed to step into the pants, pull the bodice up over your hips and then shrug it up over your shoulders.  (Are you following me?)  I got the bodice made last night, and I realized that there's no way I'm going to be able to get it up over MY hips unless I leave the V-neck open to my belly button!  Oh no, not for this gal!  I'm going to have to think up a design modification today.

Down another pound this morning!  I really, really want to be in Onederland by vacation next month.  I wonder if I can do it?

Well, I need to get moving.  Got to make a bite of breakfast and then start sewing again.  If I get this jumpsuit finished today, I'll post pics on FB.

Love you all!
