So many unhappy things on the board today, thought we should share some good news.

Had 2 wk foot doc. appt today - took all the bandages off, said it looked great, removed 21 stitches, and two of the pins.   Out of the horrendus big boot and into a small surgical shoe - can put full weight on it, back to work on Monday, AND I can drive the car!    HURRAH!!!

God is good -- all the time.

That is good news Pat.  Enjoy the freedom and take care of that revised foot, don't do too much right away.

Pat,
I am so happy for you. Life just became a whole lot better, I imagine. Like Cindi said take it easy on the foot for a while. Don't go water skiing even with the new boot on. Lol.  Glad to hear some good news.    Mag

I noticed the negativity too! I'm happy that someone has some good news. It must be wonderful to get out of that boot. I hope you continue to heal quickly!

I hope I can in someway life those up who have unhappy times and celebrate for those who have the happy times..

Whhooooo Pat, glad your foot is on the mend and you can drive again. Freeeeedom!!

I was suppose to see my internist for a wellness and followup apt. Pulled into the parking lot and it was pretty full. Along comes in a gal who I went to high school with and we worked on our last HS reunion so we got to catch up and gossip! It was great to see her, it's been 5 years since we last seen each other. After waiting 45 minutes and people were still ahead of me, I just told the front desk I was doing fine and left...I still had to do grocery shopping so by the time I got home it was after 7pm. Ugh!

So today I'm heading to the gym after work and get some stress out! Hugs Debbie

Well...I have happy, happy, happy news!  August 31st is my DATE.....unless all the assessments have been faxed from all the right people ....then ...I could be in there sooner!  But I am satisfied with the 31st.  My pre-op diet is not strenuous at all ...I have only to cut portions in half and NO white stuff!

I had my birthday party Wednesday with my friend Kay and my husband, we had Domino's pizza, a 6" birthday cake that said "new life" on it and Neopolitan ice cream...so my kitties could have some vanilla!  That was "it" until I lose a 50 pounds...then I will allow myself tiny portions of stuff I love!

Looking forward to not being hungry and to not desiring sweets as much as I always have...it has been said by many folks on here and the Main forum that this can be true ...

I am sorry for the sorrow felt by those of you who have lost a person close to you.  I lost my sister recently, she was 5 years younger than me.  Long ago my Mother died at 50 years old and my Father died 16 weeks later at age 57.  I talk to them over there quite often, it is kind of nice to know they are all together now.  I had no other siblings ...

OK onward and upward...!  I posted a notice on the Main Forum asking if anyone out there is or knows a person my age
(75) who had WLS....so far... nobody ....!  But got lots of "You go girl!" and go for it!  So much encouragement there.  I just want to be more comfortable and healthier ...and what the hell....better lookin'!!!   That's it for now...maybe now I can feel more a part of this group with the advent of my DATE!

Wishing you all a very good night and an even better tomorrow.....luv and stuff....Sam
