You have done a great job so far.  62 lbs is nothing to sneeze at.

You can expect some good encouragement from these people.  They are great.

I'm still a very newbie.  I can't even say I'm pre-op.  I'm still researching and working out the details of insurance, etc.  So, I know I can't understand exactly where you are.

But, I care.  Hang in there.  Now is the time the hard work begins -- and you can do it.

Let's look at this through the reality of weight loss:  1) You've lost 62 pounds which is almost an entire adult.  Now we don't know when you had surgery, so we cannot say if you've done well or really well; however, 62 pounds is an excellent amount of weight to lose.  2) I think we all have those times when we get to a stall or a point when we've felt a little depressed and we get buyer's remorse.  My buyer's remorse came the first month when I was so tired.   But, we all question are choices.  3) You admit you have lost interest and you're here for support, so you know what to do.  You've got the tool; get that band filled or adjusted and get back on track.   If you have a lot more weight to lose, and you can get a revision to a rny, research that option.  But don't get back into bad habits.

You can do this…look how far you've come!

62 pounds is nothing to sneeze at! I lost about 90 pounds in my first year (took 3 fills to get to my sweet spot). Then slowly continued to loose til I was down 125 pounds. The band works perfectly as long as you have the correct fill and use it the way you need to. Staying away from those things that slip right through **** cream, rich soups, cookies, chips, cake, etc). I absolutely loved my band!
Then the doctors needed to totally unfill me to place an NG tube after surgery related to my gallbladder cancer. After my chemo etc, I spent over a year trying to get back to my perfect fill (and gaining weight). I wound up with leaky tubing. I was so frustrated with trying to get the perfect fill, I decided to get the sleeve, rather than get my leak repaired. Boy was THAT the wrong decision!! I have been back to get it tightened, but I still have absolutely no restrictions. I can eat as much of anything that I want! I am still staying away from the stuff I couldn't eat with my band (rice, pasta, breads), and I usually stay away from cookies, candy etc. but I can eat an entire 6 oz. filet with salad and baker!!
Sooooo, stick in there! Get to the perfect fill and let the band work it's magic! It really only takes a little effort on your part. I hope you get your inspiration back and wind up loving your band!

There isn't anything wrong with a loss of 62 pounds...good for you!!

Maybe you need to change up your eating choices/habits a bit. Now with the beautiful weather get out and walk even a block is better then nothing!!

The RNY, Lapband, and Sleeve are there to help us. They are not a quick fix. You have to do your part too. They help us learn to eat less and eat more healthy. We need to continue to follow that pattern.  If we don't we will gain weight. Just because you CAN eat it doesn't mean you SHOULD eat it.  We are not here to try and see what we can get by with as far as the kinds of food we choose. It is rarely the tools fault. Please don't give up. I know you can do this!!

Encouragement!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm cheering ya on...hang in there and WOW! 62 pounds is great!!

So what have you replaced with eating? Any thing your passionate about?
Like dancing, exercising, swimming, rollerskating, walking/running, painting, bike riding, volunteering?

don't focus on any number on that scale right now...how about focusing on you? This is for lifetime. We have to work on ourselves. We are a piece of art work that has to be "tweaked" every day.

Keep up the good work, you are a success! Debbie

I've opened up my home to being a foster parent for cats.  I really like em and there's a need.  The shelters are full and there are many articles in the paper about how they are euthanizing too many and mistakes about euthanizing, so, hopefully and prayerfully my love of cats can become some evangelizing tool and blessing to others.  Who knows?  One day hubby and I may even have our own shelter officially and get pd. when folks adopt the cats.  We plan to refurb half our barn for this and added 4 cats to our home this week.  (We've had our 3 cats for yrs.)  I'm keepin busy.  I just got a bigger fill yesterday.  It's gonna be interesting to see living with 3.5 instead of 2.2
