Manic Monday What's Up?
Hi Vickie,
My grandon's vocabulary was growing in leaps and bounds when I was in Michigan. He'll be 3 in August. He says "tweet tweet" for birds, especially when he wants to play Angry Birds on my iPhone. He also says "dee dee" for his blanket, as well as his sister, Izzy. The kids call me Grandma, but he can't make the G sound, so he calls me "Damaw" I love it.
Enjoy your time with him. I am trying to figure out when I can head out to Michigan again. I'd like to try to go out there in August, while the weather is still nice, and my daughter is harvesting the garden. Or, maybe in September, when she is canning all the tomatoes. We'll see.
Hugs,
Trish

I'm enjoying beautiful weather here these days..... And feeling so much better as the weight continues to go! I'm losing slowly, and that's ok. My joints are already thanking me for making this weight loss surgery decision and I'm actually enjoying time in the garden now. Food is no longer central and my appetite remains nonexistent right now. That's actually helping me in being able to stop and think and eat those things that are so much better for me. I'm so grateful and thankful!
Good afternoon, ya'll.
Well, I am back to my own home with my sweet DH. I took the red eye. My RLS was REALLY bothering me on the first leg ( haha) of the journey. I had taken one pill for it and my sleeping pill. Couldn't sleep with my legs acting up. Went back to the restroom about six times in the first hour. Standing in there going up and down on my toes and flexing my calf muscles. That sometimes works. Finally took another clonazapam. I did get some relief and slept for about 2 hours. But I had a 3 hour layover in ATL and I was worried I would fall asleep at the gate, so I did a lot of walking. Glad I did, cause in the last 45 minutes there was a gate change. If I had fallen asleep I would have probably missed that announcement!
Anyway, my precious DIL picked me up at the airport. The first time she had driven since her hysterectomy. The Dr. ok'ed it, but seat belt across her abdomin was a little uncomfortable. Our son is really watching his leave. He wants to be sure to have 90 days for his terminal leave before his retirement date. That will give him a good income before he gets a 27% pay cut when he retires. Hopefully he will either find an inte******* or the business he and friends are setting up will be off and running by then.
I am soooo gonna try that yogurt. Back in my younger days, I really disliked the taste of yogurt. My pallet is more refined now.
Vickie, your house is gorgeous!! That is one BIG house for two people. It is obvious you have put a lot of work into the house and grounds.
I lost a whopping 1 pound while I was in Oregon. I did a ton of baking (mostly pies and magic cookie bars****ep blueberries on hand to nibble on so I leave the chips and stuff alone!
My daughter and the kids won't be out this summer. The finances won't allow it. But I have frequent flier miles for 2 more trips. I will go back in Sept. or Oct. By then most of us hope her divorce will be final.
Well, I caught up on some of my DVR shows, took a little nap, and had lunch. Time for some blueberries and watch the news with my DH.
I hope everyone is feeling well, healthwise, stress wise, mental wise and every wise there is!
Everyone have a fantabulous evening!

I am sitting outside with Benny watching him skinny dip in his wading pool. He was standing up and he started to pee. He looked down at himself and then back up at me, rather astounished. I told him, "You went tee-tee." He was so surprised. Now he keeps saying "tee tee", but nothing is happening! Lol! Maybe this is the start of potty training? Lol!
Vickie,
I love the story about Benny peeing and being surprised. Lincoln has gone in the potty, but my daughter is not doing any formal potty training with him till closer to his 3rd birthday, in August. She learned from working with Izzy that having a new baby in the house is stressful enough in the beginning. So, by August, the newness of Baby Franklin will be done, and she won't be nursing every two hours either. I did talk to him about going pee and poop in the potty like Izzy and Mommy and Daddy whenever I changed his diaper. I wasn't putting pressure, just telling him that pretty soon he'd be going in the potty like them.
Enjoy.
Hugs,
Trish
