Super Sunday What's Happening?
I am getting ready for my son to pick me up in about an hour, and take me to Baltimore to see the Phillies play the Orioles in inter-league play. He always takes me to a Phillies game for Mothers Day, but we were both out of town that weekend, me driving home from Michigan, him in Chicago running a half marathon. Since then, his schedule has not permitted him a Sunday free. So, we are going for an adventure.
It's supposed to be 97 degrees there today, so I plan of buying lots of water. Stay cool and stay hydrated today.
Hugs,
Trish

Went to Bingo last night with mom and friends...didn't win again...grrrr this was the last one til september. Fine with me!!! LOL Mom had chance for the jackpot...$225.00!!! Waited and waited for her number and never got called!!! Oh well she had fun!! People could not believe she was 91!! Said she looked more like 75 than 91!!! Yes mom looks much younger and she wishes she felt that young again!!!
Grilling burgers today. Not sure what else we will be having. Need to go to the store if I want to make potato salad. Have everything I need if I make macaroni tuna salad. What to do...LOL Going to be 90* today so not sure mom wants to be outside...see what happens.
Well just wanted to stop in say hello...thoughts and prayers for all that need them!!
HUGS
Trish, I second that. Lots of water and sunscreen! Maybe a stylish floppy hat.
Judy, sorry you and your Mom didn't win at bingo, but at least it was a bonding experience!
This afternoon is the baby shower for our grandson and his girl. I have sent them tons of stuff ever since they moved to IN. Big stuff and little stuff. Sooo, I have a couple of smallish crochetted things, and $100 cash. They drove down, so don't have room to take a lot back.
We have had some fantastic weather here since I got back from Oregon. Sunny and gorgeous. Humid of course, but that is NC.
Our grandson who is joining the Navy has run by here 3 times. He is trying to stay in shape before boot camp. I expect I will see him and a few others for breakfast soon. It's BLT Sunday after all!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Love all your Sunday plans! Everyone seems to be having fun today. We are packing up a picnic to take to the Blue Hole in Wimberly. It's a wonderful old swimming hole in the middle of Cypress Creek, nestled under 100+year old cypress trees. The water is crystal clear and COLD as a frog!
We went to the San Antonio zoo yesterday. Posted some pics on FB if you're interested. We had a great time there. Benny is still just a bit too young to really appreciate the whole zoo experience, but he is starting to name some animals and identify them. The elephants were the biggest hit of the day. He couldn't take his eyes off of them.
Hope everyone drinks plenty of water, uses plenty of sunscreen, wears gorgeous floppy hats, takes lots of pictures to share, and has a great time today!
Love you all!
Glad to hear of all the good times that will be enjoyed today.
I plan on putting some music on and enjoying a movie later. Church at 5PM this evening. I'm sure it will be wonderful. I love evening services.
Going back to bed. The new doses on my drug makes me feel drugged all the time. I won't take them again until after church.
Continue with your enjoyment of the day!!!!! Hugs, Mag
I give thanks for today Rebecca got out of the hospital and will be on meds for at least 6 months for blood thinners...along with 3 iron tablets a day. I gotta tell her about mixing prune juice and applesauce to keep the bowels going and not to crap bricks with all that iron! LOL
Church was exceptional today. We had a guest Pastor from Vanguard Ministries. A handsome young black man and his beautiful wife just married 6 mths. This young man spoke from the heart and he is a "Street Minister", he use to be in a gang when he was young and never had a father figure. He talked about Jesus being his best friend and how he was saved. I tell you my heart just swelled. This bright young man talked about trials and how our faith is tested, how we grow more stronger with trials that are thrown our way. Now I know b/c of our ages that we all have had lots of trials. Our Faith is constantly tested and I tell you all I can say is I'm so glad I have my Faith, my family, my OFF family and all of my other friends.
One of my favorite young PCA's (nurse's aide) got a rescue dog, 2 yrs. old, part lab and Dalmatian. Lilly was going to be put down the next day and Anna save her. Now her bratty roommate won't let her have the dog in their apt. Anna is moving out in Aug with another girlfriend. I told her I would keep Lilly if she couldn't find someone, she just came to me crying and asked if I was serious about taking her dog. I told her yep, I'm there for the dog and for her too. Told her if she wanted to spend the nights sometimes to be with her dog that's a go too. Seems like I just adopt these young kids I work with. I love each of them. Now I have to tell hubby we have visitors coming tomorrow. He's cool and will be okay with this.
So hugs and prayers for all in need.
P.S. I love playing Bingo but I never win either. Maybe I should buy a Power Ball ticket! LOL
Praise the Lord for the testimony of this young preacher. I love to hear stories of redemption for hard lives. My life was challenging growing up with a violent alcoholic father and bipolar mother. I developed my own mental illness, and have been in therapy a long time. But, I can see the hand of God all through my life. I went througha self-pity trip for a few months after my husband left me. My mentor gave me Jeremiah 29:11, and I plastered that all over my apartment. Some nights I would just sit on my couch, crying and praying that verse. I am now mentoring a woman, and that verse is the first one I have given her.
I am so glad you are able to be a foster 'mom' to the rescued dog. My Utley, a Shiba Inu was a rescue. My first dog, a mix of Husky and some sort of Spaniel, was a rescue from the SPCA. My dream is to get out of debt, get my own place, and get a few more rescue dogs. I had rescued two cats, but my allergy to cats had me constantly sick. I had to part with them. I am not as allergic to dogs. My sister has the house I grew up in, and has two dogs She wants to retire this year, and said, 'What would I do all the time.' I told her volunteer at the local animal shelter. She already volunteers with Special Olympics.
Hugs,

One day you will get your own place and hopefully with lots of room and have a rescue shelter or maybe your own Pet Sitting Business....or a doggie camp. We have 10 acres and I could see me doing that when I retire but I love working so I'll just keep my job! LOL Hugs Debbie
P.S. Lilly the rescue dog came today and she is a sweetheart. Got along with my 3 dogs and Momma cat.
