So, what do you to stay sane when you are post-op??

One week post-op PS phase 2, drains still in. Taking it easy.

I loved The Good Wife TV series that ended awhile ago. It continues online as The Good Fight - I am enjoying it. Many of the characters have at least cameo roles. Diane, Luka, the crazy judges are back. I signed up for the free week. I'll binge and see if there if enough content to pay the $4.99 a month.

So, what and how are y doing?

Once I got beyond the point where I kept dropping my phone on my face.... I read a lot. Short stories worked well for me. I had figured I'd watch a lot of TV and catch up on some shows, but that never happened.

Two weeks post-op my first BS class started, so then I had that to consume my waking/coherent time.

You made me laugh. My phone ended up falling on the floor.

I am still enjoying The Good Fight, they even brought Elsbeth Tomasoni back.

Internet, Hallmark movies. I had problems focusing on reading and I generally have 3 books going at once. Naps were a biggy. Plus, eating 150-200 g of protein was tough with the compression on my sleeve, it was like I was a new DSer. A few bites and I was full.

Now, I'd have to just keep my phone plugged in and do marathons of Candy Crush, Soda and Jelly.

For what it's worth, recovery from reconstructive surgery was nothing like recovery from my weight loss surgery. After my VSG, I felt completely functional as far as my brain went the next day. After my recent lower body lift and brachioplasty it took me almost two weeks to be around 85% and another week to feel 100%. And that was just for my brain. If I had tried to watch TV in the first two weeks I would have ended up rewatching a LOT of episodes.

Tot agree. I was stupid for months after my RNY, but I had few phy sysmptoms after 2 weeks - had to be careful, but no real pain, etc. PS is a whole diff game.

I have been watching Father Brown mysteries on Netflx. Very gentle and pretty scencey. But yes, I fall asleep and rewactch the episode. Almost 2 weeks and I'm on episode 6 I think. LOL

I only had 4 hours surg this time, so my recovery is mentally better, but I will be fighting swelling in my legs for awhile. On Monday (2 weeks post op) I hope to get drains removed, but it will take time to get swelling down. Forget pants, I bought a few long flowy light wt dresses to hide the below the calf comp garments I will be wearing until , ah like, prob Christmas. I am OK with that, I knew going in, but it still sucks.

I read an article by a PS, not mine, but I thought good. He wrote that every patient hates him sometime in the first 3 weeks when the recpvery process gets old, progress slows down, you're off the pain meds but still are not able to function normally. Just a phase, but I liked his honesty. I did not feel that way at all last year, even though my recovery was much more dificult - 8 hours of surgery, 40+ inches of inscisions (this year just lipo ,mini breast lift, and fat transfer is not as bad). BUT I have 2 drains. OMG. They are the worse. Sometimes I just cant get comfortable - not enough to take a pain pill but too much discomfort to sleep.

Off of to get G of T for my outing.

I am ready to do Game of Thrones, but I am afraid I will get totoallt adicted, everyone loves it.

I am in the legs higher than heart position to get rid of swelling. I walk around the house every hour or two, it's to hot to walk outside for long. I am going to get season 1 GofT out of the libraby.

Also got Xmas shopping done on line.

Thanks for the ides
