Please imagine this liberally peppered with the F word and sobs...

My good friends rearranged their days to drive me up to what ended up to be a 5pm appointment. It's 60 miles each way from my house in LA rush hour traffic. The office person had told me they all leave at 5, so we would need to stand in the hallway until the doctor showed up. Fine. We make pretty good time up there and are literally getting off the freeway at his exit when she calls and tells me he won't be able to make it.

I was speechless. She said she can fit me in tomorrow at 2. I said, but I already had an appointment tomorrow at 11! Oh she gave that away. All I could say was, you're kidding over and over. She finally said I could still come at 11.

So I burst into tears for the 3rd time today and start apologizing profusely to my friends as we get off the freeway and back on in the other direction to head home.

Total time in the car for absolutely nothing: 3 and a half hours. And I am now a double-booked appointment at my original time tomorrow. And I still have infected incisions. I could not be more disappointed with how he runs his office.

My friends said not to make decisions while I'm so upset, but honestly after this and the "get a bedpan" answer when I called for help after become incontinent after the catheter was removed, I'm not sure I'll use him for my remaining surgery.

I've heard the recovery on thighs is tough. Luckily, I was very apple-shaped, and my thighs were never all that bad to begin with (even when I was SMO). The skin is definitely crepe-y, but I'm 58 years old - it's not like I'm going to be wearing short shorts or mini skirts. Otherwise, they look pretty thin when I'm wearing pants - with a noticeable "thigh gap". So I think I'm safe to skip those. This stomach is awful, though!!

He said I could immediately after surgery (or whenever I was functional enough to remember to take them). I think I started back up at day 4 or 5.

I had my consult with Dr. Lawrence Zachary today - loved him. As expected, he's more expensive than the other two surgeons I've seen (Daniel Krochmal and David Shifrin), but surprisingly, not all that much more than Dr. Shifrin (who's also pretty pricey). But Dr. Zachary will only do surgeries in a hospital, and he keeps you there overnight, whereas Dr. Shifrin uses a surgery center and sends you home the same day. That piece alone probably accounts for most, if not all, the difference in their prices (Dr. Krochmal was quite a *****eaper than both of them).

I do have one more consult scheduled for June which I'm not 100% sure I'm going to keep. I think I have three good options right now. I'll mull this over for a few days. Right now I'm all excited about Dr. Zachary, but then, I felt the same about the other two after I saw them, too. It's probably better to wait a few days when I can be more objective about this.

If anyone has any thoughts about/experience with any of these people, let me know! Thanks!

Shifrin will never do surgeries in a hospital, but Krochmal will - I had him quote it in a hospital setting - think it was $400 more?

Good luck!

I am researching who I want to do my thighs and struggling with how bad the healing is on thighs!

Thighs are tough for many people, which is why I chose not to have them done. I'm glad to hear your surgeon wants to see you sooner than later.

I had my body work done with Capella and it turned out very nicely, except that I had a serious complication with my arm lift. I went from a size 14 to a size 2 which thrilled me and I can wear all of the clothes that I could never wear before -- short skirts, thongs, bikinis... amazing. He is quite affordable as far as plastic surgeons go... not much more than that Sauceda surgeon in MX that some people on this board have gone to.

I found the recliner to be much more comfortable - I could last about 3 hours in the bed and then had to move to the recliner, which my son carried up to my room for recovery. Otherwise, during awake hours, the couch was fine.

It looks like you had a thigh lift, too... your surgeon did an amazing job with just the LBL. Who did your work?
