Hi there,

i am now 4 weeks out from lbl. I now have not quite an opening but an indent on my back right on the spine. The PS says i said put neosporin daily and keep it covered and hopefully 2 weeks wil heal. I have had a couple of smaller ones that took a week to heal. So after all that my real questions is when where you able to start running again.

thank you,

Bonnie

I couldn't agree more! I was also out of the Vaughan clinic and they've been amazing. Great after care too. Just text my question and they respond. Dr. Al-Habib called 2 or three times once I was home and Dr. Nandagopal call once. People I've told can't believe the surgeon called to check on me! I would also highly recommend this clinic!!

To the swelling. I'm up 3 inches on my waist! I really hope I don't need to wait 3-6 months to wear my clothes. :( I knew I'd be in leggings for a few weeks...

Thighs are not improving, but from what I've read, most resolve by week 6.

im also soaking and peroxiding..it is stoftening a bit, but won't come off. I'm not too worried about it. Yet. It is pretty red and raw, but I think it is froze peroxide.

Topic: Can someone recommend a good Plastic Surgeon in Europe?

Hello,

I was glad to find this website. It feels very comforting to read the discussions and know that there are other people out there who shares same issues and concerns.

I hope someone can help me in recommending great plastic surgeons whom are experts in surgeries post massive weight loss. I did the circumferential surgery 5 years ago and wasn't able to do my thighs. Its time to do my thigh lift as I'm really suffering form the excessive skin. as per previous consultation, I have around 20 pounds of excess skin to be removed.

I'm looking for a specialized doctor in German, Switzerland or UK. Can anyone refer me to a good one? the online search didn't help me and I know no one as I'm from the middle east.

Thank you so much for your help.

Dr al habib told me to start taking binder breaks in week 3 and 4 and be completely off in week 5. They want you to build strength back up. Not become reliant on the binder for support.

Yep...Vaughn clinic. Was a much better surgical recovery experience than I've ever had. Would totally recommend them. Dr Al-habib has been fanstastic with the follow up.

That is good! I always feel like crap after anesthesia. I agree, if 12 HRs is standard, it would be less of a concern

I had the crust on my belly button too and was lectured about getting it off because "bacteria love to live behind it". That scared me and what I did was when I showered I cupped my hand just under my belly button so it was submerged in a little pool of water. I'd do that for like 30 seconds but would do it several times each shower to soften the scabby crust. Then as soon as I'd get out of the shower I'd take gauze and hydrogen peroxide and sort of rub the belly button slowly to loosen the crust. It started to come off in pieces more and more and looked pretty scary when it came off. Was pretty red and raw underneath. I dabbed it with a hydrogen peroxide soaked gauze 2 times a day, made sure it was dry then put a little bit of polysporin on it using a q-tip. Within a few days it was good but is an outtie now. Dr says it's just swollen but Im not convinced lol.

The feeling you describe in your outer thighs sounds awful! Hopefully that resolves soon. Is it getting better?

Swell hell. Could be 3-6 months I was told before swelling is completely gone - what?! Ugh. Hopefully better for summer at least!

This is helpful, thank you. I was wondering why these spots are taking so long to close. Well, they aren't even really open but rather just weeping. The incision line hasn't separated or anything.

I'm looking forward to exercising again! I realize it will take a while to rebuild my strength and stamina but looking forward to getting started. Few more weeks.

Did you stop wearing compression after week 6? Did you transfer from binder to spanx type products? I asked my surgeon if I could purchase a second binder so I could wash one without going without and he said there was no need as I'd only be in the binder for 3 weeks then switch to spanx type products but that was at week 1. I forgot to ask if I can switch but haven't texted because I don't feel ready. I still like the security of the tightness.

The open butt crack and high butt were a shock to me too. I freaked right out. I spent so much time researching the LBL I didn't put much thought into the fat transfer at all.

I see improvement in mine and apparently we're going to love it lol so we'll just have to give it time

Were you at his Vaughan clinic?
