That sounds like so much fun!!! Brings back memories.  Now I may need to look in the garage and see if I can dig one out.  I purchased some for my kids years ago.

Great post Tom.  It was exactly what I need to read!!! As you know i have been driving with  one hand on the wheel and the other out the window while putting on make-up...lol.  Back to 10 and 2 OH, posting and support.  Hope to see you and one of the support meetings.  Maybe after we can go for coffee.  Do you mind if I post this on my support site.  All In the Mind Message Board?  Let me know if it is OK with you.

Fun Hula-Hoop Exercise Routine

By Lisa Whitmore

Channel your inner child with this quick and effective workout.

The Routine

You may not have touched one since you were 10, but the humble hula hoop is a bona fide piece of workout equipment that can tone your thighs, abdominals, gluteals, and arms. And it’s just as much fun as you remember. “You barely feel like you’re working out,” says Sunny Becks-Crumpton, a hooping instructor and the owner of Hooprama, an exercise studio in East Nashville, Tennessee. To try it, grab a hoop (Becks-Crumpton’s site, hoopsupplies.com, has easy, DIY hoop kits) and complete this routine three times a week, going through the sequence twice. At first the moves may throw you for a loop, but don’t despair: Practice makes perfect.

Move 1: Side to Side

The classic move: Holding the hoop at waist level, start with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. With your hands, push the hoop off a hip so it begins to rotate. As it spins, sway your hips in a side-to-side motion, as if bumping each side of a doorway. (Closing your eyes will help you focus on the feel of the move, says Becks-Crumpton.) Work for up to one minute, rest for a few seconds, then repeat.

Move 2: Front and Back

Stagger your feet, with toes pointed forward (it doesn’t matter which foot is in front). Hold the hoop at waist level and pu**** off a hip so it begins to rotate. With knees soft, rock your hips forward and back to keep the hoop going, exaggerating the forward move so the hoop doesn’t fall. Work for up to one minute, rest for a few seconds, then repeat.

Move 3: The Bump

Stand with legs squeezed together and knees soft, holding the hoop at waist level. With a flat back, lean forward and push the hoop with your hands so it begins to rotate. Lift and lower your body to keep the hoop spinning by bending and straightening your knees; hold abs tight and keep your weight on your toes. The hoop should stay almost perpendicular to the floor. Keep it going for 30 seconds, rest, then repeat one or two more times.

Move 4: The Orbit

Stand with your feet together and hold the hoop straight out in front of your body. Get the hoop in motion so that it’s rotating around your hand (move your arm up and down slightly to maintain the momentum). Slowly raise your arm above your head, keeping the hoop moving—it should roll over your thumb and into your palm. Do this for one minute, then return to start. Repeat with the other arm.

Topic: THURSDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone,

Hope that everyone is doing well and getting ready for the weekend.    Things are finally improving in my family.......hope now things don't start falling apart now that I have made this statement.   LOL  We ALL have so very much in our lives to be grateful for....if for nothing else you are alive and breathing and reading here on OH.     PLEASE feel free to share with us what you are grateful for today.    Today I personally am grateful for God's grace shown toward my family.     Life is not perfect and trust me...my family has been going through alot lately.    WIthout my Faith in God I would have probably crumbled and died.    Seems like things going on with  my kids ( a 25 yr. old ) seems to affect me more than if something was going on with myself or my health.    I know that God is doing a mighty work in his life and re-directing the path that he was traveling on.    SO grateful for my WLS, Family and friends,  health, life and every good thing that has come into my life and the bad things too ( because the bad things help teach me things ),    Grateful to OH for all the wonderful people here and for the upcoming OH Conference in New Orleans. La.   Sept 9 -10.

Hugs and blessings ~~~~ Vivian

Thank you Vivian.. I am glad to know others have had success. Thank you for your prayers also.
I am not sure about the metabolism test being accurate but, I do know I am losing weight even with 1200 calorie diet daily. They can however use the test to show my insurance that my revision is medically necessary, if I choose to go ahead with it..

My doctor said those metabolism tests aren't accurate and will get a different answer from one day to the next.  I was looking about getting one and he said don't bother.

Sharon....I know quite a few people who have had revision from band to RNY and they have been very successful with it.    Praying for you that everything works out for you whatever decision you make.   One surgery doesn't fit everyone.    Sometimes one will work for one person and not the other.    They all work if done properly but sometimes if they don't work for you and you have to change to another one.    Good luck to you on your upcoming appointment and decision to be made.
